Trump announces Greenland deal with Denmark giving US ‘permanent control over security’

President Trump announced Friday that his administration had concluded a deal with Denmark to take over security for the island of Greenland, raising hopes that one of the major points of contention between the US and Europe would be settled.

“I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “There will be NO COST to the United States!”

The three governments are expected to sign the agreement next week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to Denmark, which had reacted angrily to repeated suggestions by the president that the US might annex the territory.Getty Images

”I am glad that we are about to make a great agreement for Greenland, the Kingdom of Denmark, and the United States,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said in a statement.

[[[ As the focus today remains on Iran with Trump once again trying to flex muscle he obviously doesn't have, what with his latest talk of possibly having to "annihilate Iran"  being just that...talk..,for even Trump must know that if he did so the response from both Russia and China would surely not be pretty for the U.S. 

So the question becomes, why then all the muscle-flexing talk? Why...because Trump is trying to divert and deflect attention away from the fact that all the latest polls...polls from both sides of the political aisle...show his overall "approval rating" at just 38.3% as opposed to a 58.7% "disapproval rating" when adults, registered voters and/or likely voters were asked the direct question, "Do you approve or disapprove of Donald Trump?"

And with the polls...for now anyway...being overwhelming against him, Trump...if he puts his massive ego aside...must know that not only will Republicans likely lose the House in November, but possibly the Senate as well, especially after the recently announced raise in interest rates. And now when you add in this latest little "confirmed" tidbit that U.S. officials, as directed by Trump, have held and will continue to hold talks with Houthi leaders in Oman...the Houthi's are  financially and militarily backed by Iran...negotiating with terrorists yet again seems to be the order of the day. and sadly could be the icing on a 2028 loss as well.

Iran adds new defenses at deeply buried nuclear site after Trump warns Islamic State not to ‘get cute’

New satellite imagery shows Iran has added new defenses around tunnel entrances at Pickaxe Mountain, the deeply buried nuclear-linked site President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to strike, as Russia and China on Thursday vetoed a U.S.-drafted Security Council resolution aimed at preserving international monitoring of sanctions on Tehran.

The Institute for Science and International Security said in a report released Thursday that satellite imagery from Sept. 11 shows earthen roadblocks remain in place on roads leading to Pickaxe Mountain’s western tunnel portals near the Natanz nuclear complex. The institute said the continued restricted access reinforces its assessment that the facility is not currently being used for normal operations, while assessing that valuable equipment or materials remain inside.

The report also identified additional soil placed over one western tunnel portal and over a nearby cluster of entrances first built in 2007. The institute said the added soil increases the amount of earth protecting the entrances and helps harden them against aerial bombardment. Read more, and see photos here. 

Trump says he has a ‘big decision’ coming up on Iran: ‘Do I want to go in and annihilate them?’

President Trump said Thursday that he was at a crossroads over whether to renew attacks in Iran to wipe out the regime and bring the war to an end.

“I have a big decision coming up. Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?” he told Axios. “It’s a big decision. Anything could happen with me.”

Trump’s comments echo previous threats he’s levied against Tehran since the war began. 

But this time, he said, his next move is likely to be influenced by his meetings with Gulf allies at next week’s United Nations General Assembly meeting.

“I want to find out where they are and how they are doing. We have been very protective of them,” Trump added.

Tensions are expected to be high at the gathering after the Iran-backed Houthis launched fierce attacks on Saudi Arabia this past week, threatening global oil and gas supplies.

The UN Security Council already saw a clash on Thursday after Russia and China vetoed a bid to extend an expert panel to monitor sanctions against Iran and the regime’s nuclear program.

[[[ This is my thought on a meme that was posted this morning on FB. Simply put, ALL DeSantis said is factually true, but Mr. "Art of the Deal" obviously does NOT know the difference between real estate and construction business deals and the "business of the government."

 

It also shows why Florida's Ron DeSantis, the governor of the freest and most economically successful state in our country today...should be the Republican presidential nominee in 2028, as he also knows well that all the Trump "paper shifted monies" must be shifted back to where they rightfully belong. 

 

In fact, history itself has shown that successful governors in having dealt with their state's economy actually make the best presidents. How so...because they have "hands on"  experience on how to actually apply economic success to their governance, and thus can transfer their success over to running the nation's economy, as opposed to those whose successful business deals are solely profit driven.

 

And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with that in the private sector, when it translates over into what I believe to be an attempt to "buy votes," then I say, "Houston, we again have a problem…the same problem we have regarding Iran…no need to name yet again the obvious name," at least dear reader I hope not. ]]]
