Democrats caught stuffing ballot with campaign materials

Fairfax County, Virginia, voter Jena Jones told WND and Radio America she found this Democrat insert included with her absentee ballot, among others

When Jena Jones opened up her absentee ballot last week, there was a lot more in the envelope than she expected. In addition to actual ballot, she and her husband, David, noticed multiple pieces of advocacy from Democrats.

Jones, who resides in Fairfax County, will be out of town on Election Day and requested an absentee ballot from the Virginia Department of Elections. She was surprised to what else came with her ballot.

“I found a letter from the governor of Virginia asking me to please vote Democrat and ‘help keep Virginia blue’ this year. Then I got a letter from the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, giving me a step-by-step, yes-and-no what I should vote for as far as the meal tax and all those other things on the ballot,” Jena explained to WND and Radio America.

The latter document is known as a sample ballot and is often handed out on the sidewalks outside of polling places on Election Day. But there are strict rules that forbid those sample ballots from being handed out in the polling stations. (See images of some of the materials below this story.)

An email posted to Wikileaks from Clinton Campaign manager John Podesta’s personal email account shows Podesta sorted potential VP picks into “food groups”  based on race and gender.

The email, sent on March 17, shows a list of names of possible VP picks that Podesta and five others collaborated on which he then says he organized into “rough food groups”. The names are sectioned out based on race, ethnicity, and gender.

Podesta sent the email on a Thursday,  soon after Clinton won a handful of primaries in key states such as Illinois, Ohio, and Florida. “Ok, I can breathe again!” Podesta wrote. “Congrats on a fabulous night. I am feeling like it’s possible to get back to the longer term again.”

Before listing the VP picks, Podesta says that the list was made following discussions with Cheryl Mills, Robby Mook, Jake Sullivan, Huma Abedin, and Jennifer Palmieri. He said the list was “a first cut of people to consider for VP” and that he “have organized names in rough food groups.”

Lois Lerner Gave Confidential Tax Info of Tea Party Groups to the FEC

According to documents obtained by government watchdog Judicial Watch, embattled and now retired IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner sent confidential tax information of Tea Party and conservative groups to the Federal Elections Commission, a felony offense under federal law.

Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained email exchanges between former Internal Revenue Services (IRS) Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner and enforcement attorneys at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) indicating that the IRS provided detailed, confidential information concerning the tax exempt application status and returns of conservative groups to the FEC in violation of federal law. Included with the email exchanges were IRS questionnaires to a conservative group that contained questions of a hostile nature.

The bulk of the records obtained by Judicial Watch consist of extensive materials from the IRS’ files sent from Lerner to the FEC containing detailed, confidential information about the organizations. These include annual tax returns (Forms 990) and request for exempt recognition forms (Form 1024), Articles of Organization and other corporate documents, and correspondence between the nonprofit organizations and the IRS. Under Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code, it is a felony for an IRS official to disclose either “return information” or “taxpayer return information,” even to another government agency.

Unreal: Pentagon Demands Soldiers Repay Bonuses

Thousands of California soldiers are being forced to repay large bonuses that were given to them a decade ago for reenlisting and going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The bonus of $15,000 or more was offered as an enticement by the California National Guard, but now the Pentagon is demanding the money back after an audit revealed they were overpaid.

If they refuse, the nearly 10,000 soldiers this affects will be hit with interest charges, tax liens, and wage garnishments.

Investigations have determined that lack of oversight allowed for widespread fraud and mismanagement by California Guard officials under pressure to meet enlistment targets.

But soldiers say the military is reneging on 10-year-old agreements and imposing severe financial hardship on veterans whose only mistake was to accept bonuses offered when the Pentagon needed to fill the ranks.
