US military 'loading up and resting,' Trump says, as Iran tests ceasefire

Trump warns US forces will stay near Iran until lasting deal is secured

President Donald Trump said late Wednesday that U.S. forces would remain near Iran until a lasting peace agreement is finalized.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the U.S. military would be on standby until a “REAL AGREEMENT” with Iran is secured.

“All U.S. Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal prosecution and destruction of an already substantially degraded Enemy, will remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with,” Trump wrote.

“If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,” he added. Read more here.

Eligible young men will automatically be registered for US military draft later this year
Victor Nava / NEW YORK POST

Congress approved automatic registration for the draft last December as part of the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, must-pass legislation that authorizes funding for military personnel and operations.

The federal government plans to automatically register eligible men for the military draft beginning in December, according to a proposed rule published last week.

The Selective Service System (SSS), the government agency that maintains the database of draft-eligible Americans, submitted the “automatic registration” rule change to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on March 30.

“This statutory change transfers responsibility for registration from individual men to SSS through integration with federal data sources,” the agency notes on its website. “SSS will implement the change by December 2026, resulting in a streamlined registration process and corresponding workforce realignment.”

Under federal law, most males between 18 and 25 years old are already required to register with the Selective Service System in case a military draft is authorized.

From ‘unconditional surrender’ to a 2-week cease-fire deal brokered by Pakistan..a country that doesn’t really like us very much and who has deep economic ties to Iran…to Iran still lobbing missiles/drones into both Israel and the UAE…I say ‘Houston we have a problem’…what say you dear reader?

Iran violates ceasefire agreement hours after Trump announces truce
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said it had accepted the two-week ceasefire, while stressing that the war itself had not ended yet.
Jerusalem Post Staff  / THE JERUSALEM POST

Iran launched missiles toward Israel early Wednesday morning, hours after US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Air raid alerts continued in Israel after the truce was announced, raising immediate doubts about whether the arrangement would hold.

Later on Wednesday, the Bahrain Interior Ministry said that air raid sirens were activated across the country following an Iranian attack on its territory.

"The alarm siren has been activated. Citizens and residents are requested to remain calm, head to the nearest safe place, and follow updates through official channels," the Bahrain ministry said in a statement.

Later on Wednesday, Bahrain confirmed the attack was carried out by Iran, with the missile causing a fire without leaving anyone wounded.

Despite that, missile alerts remained active after the ceasefire announcement.

Artemis II launch live updates: NASA reveals breathtaking photos from far side of the moon in historic first

N
ASA’s Artemis II saw astronauts orbit the moon in a mission the likes of which have not been seen in more than 50 years.

On Monday, the four-person crew — Cmdr. Reid Wiseman, specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen and pilot Victor Glover — had their historic flyby of the moon.

The mission’s showstopper event gave the astronauts the world’s first-ever glimpses of parts of the lunar dark side, which they described as being “impossibly rugged” and “alien” — and broke the historic record set more than 50 years ago by Apollo 13.

They later crowded around the windows — wearing protective glasses — to watch a solar eclipse. Unlike on Earth, where the celestial phenomenon lasts just a few minutes, the crew’s glimpse lasted for nearly an hour.

The crew then spoke with President Trump, who congratulated them on their historic feat and called them “modern-day pioneers.”

“You’ve made history and made all America really proud, incredibly proud,” Trump told them, before peppering them with questions and inviting them to the White House once they’re back on Earth.  Read more, see photos and video here.
