Trump Administration Cranks New Sanctions on Corrupt Venezuelan Officials

The Trump administration has issued additional sanctions against Venezuelan officials, continuing the maximum pressure campaign against illegitimate dictator Nicolas Maduro.

"On August 5, the President of the United States signed an Executive Order blocking all property and interests in property of the Government of Venezuela that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within possession or control of any United States person," the Treasury Department released in a statement Tuesday. "This Executive Order is designed to directly target the former Maduro regime and those who support it, while exempting transactions related to humanitarian activity, including the provision of articles such as food, clothing, and medicine intended to be used to relieve human suffering. OFAC has concurrently issued a general license authorizing transactions with Interim President Juan Guaido, the National Assembly, and individuals appointed or designated by Guaido."

Cory Booker Can't Decide Whether President Trump Should Condemn White Supremacy

Democrat Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker has been arguing for months President Trump should condemn white supremacy. Today, the President did exactly that.

"The shooter in El Paso posted a manifesto online consumed by racist hate. In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy. These sinister ideologies must be defeated.

Hate has no place in America – hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart, and devours the soul.  We have asked the FBI to identify all further resources they need to investigate and disrupt hate crimes and domestic terrorism, whatever they need,” Trump said from the White House.

But for racially motivated, cynical political players like Booker, it doesn't count.

Iraq War veteran Chris Kelley to challenge Ilhan Omar in 2020 Minnesota House bid

Kelley, 49, told Fox News on Friday that Omar’s controversial comments about the Sept. 11 attacks — she said in March that on 9/11, “some people did something” — motivated him to launch his campaign. “That statement was a slap in the face to first responders and everyone who died on that horrible day”

Longtime Minneapolis police officer and Iraq War veteran Chris Kelley announced this week that he would challenge Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) in 2020.

Kelley, a 27-year veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and 20-year veteran of the Minneapolis Police Department, ran as a Republican in a 2016 Senate bid, but after failing to gain the party’s endorsement, he is running as an independent in 2020.
