Someone Else Has Flipped Against Trump

Besides the many charges facing former President Donald Trump, which number nearly 100, there’s ample fear that some entangled in these legal actions might flip. It’s already happened in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified document case, where Yuscil Taveras, who was previously Trump’s “director of information technology at Mar-a-Lago,” recanted his initial testimony in August—and now claims there was an effort to destroy evidence and bury surveillance tapes. It’s not a good development, but with these trials starting months from now, these details will get lost amid other pressing news. But rest assured, they will be rehashed. 

 

In Georgia’s 2020 RICO case against Trump, Lin Wood, one of the most vocal election lawyers who ran afoul on some of his theories about the last presidential election, has decided to turn state’s evidence (via CNBC):

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott accuses Biden administration of cutting razor wire at border: 'Opening the floodgates'

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott accused the Biden administration of recently cutting razor wire that the Lone Star State had installed in Eagle Pass.

The comments were made as Texas officials continue to spar with the White House over the migrant crisis at the Southern border. Abbott made the announcement Wednesday evening.

"Texas installed razor wire in Eagle Pass to stop illegal crossings," Abbott explained on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Today the Biden Admin CUT that wire, opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants."

"I immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings & install more razor wire," the Republican governor added.

The governor later posted a picture of a letter he sent directly to President Biden in November, and declared that the President's policies caused "an invasion at our border." "We are building a border wall, razor wire & marine barriers," Abbott wrote. "We are also repelling migrants." Read more and see videos here.

The FBI Didn't Know How Many Paid Informants They Had at the Capitol on January 6

Nearly three years after the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, the House Judiciary Committee continues to learn about what went on that day. During a transcribed interview with former Assistant Director-in-Charge of the Washington Field Office (WFO) Steven D'Antuono, it was revealed that there had been confidential human sources (CHS) from other field offices, as well as other informants who went on their own accord. Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has thus sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray for oversight on the FBI about their use of CHSs. Jordan had previously sent a letter to Wray on November 30, 2022 about CHSs.  

When asked by Jordan during a closed doors hearing on June 7, 2023 that "you now know that there were CHSs that the FBI knew ahead of time were going to be here on January 6th and that there were also some unknown CHSs who, on their own accord, decided to come here on January 6th," D'Antuono responded with "that is my belief, yeah." Attorney for IRS Whistleblowers Responds to Lawsuit Filed by Hunter Biden's Attorneys

Katie wrote this week that Hunter Biden’s attorneys have decided to use the nuclear option: they’re suing the IRS for failing to protect their client’s privileged information. The legal drama for the president’s son doesn’t stop with the IRS. He was recently indicted on gun charges by Special Counsel David Weiss, the same felonies he almost skated away scot-free, based on a failed plea deal Weiss had a hand in crafting. The IRS whistleblowers nuked that agreement with their July testimony: 

 

"Hunter Biden is suing the Internal Revenue Service, arguing whistleblower testimony from career agents was meant to embarrass him and was a violation of his privacy. "President Biden’s son Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit Monday against the Internal Revenue Service, charging that when agents who were investigating him told Congress and news reporters about their concerns that the case was not being managed properly, they violated his privacy rights as a taxpayer," the Washington Post reports...See Xs and videos here.

Really Mr. President, the governor who made Florida the “Free State of Florida”...a state where those from around the country started flocking to because our great governor dared to defy your and Fauci's indoctrination regarding mask and then vax mandates, and what became an unneeded long term lock down...that man did not do a “good job” according to you. Are you really that politically fearful of him that you have to state such unabashed lies...apparently you are. And to that I say, shame on you!

So Mr. President...and I still call you “Mr. President” because I do honor and thank you for all the good things you did for both “We the People” and for our country on the economic front...but you really do need a lesson in truth as do those who worship at your altar... especially now as many Republicans and independents have started to turn away from you...and rightfully so I might add. Ron DeSantis Claps Back at McCarthy in House Republican Spending Battle

When it comes to the fast-moving spending battles, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is now getting even further involved to clap back at Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). On Sunday, McCarthy had made a prediction to Fox News' Maria Bartiromo that former and potentially future President Donald Trump will be the nominee, adding "I served with Ron DeSantis. He's not at the same level as President Trump in any shape or form." 

 

DeSantis had served in the House from 2013 until he resigned in 2018 to run for governor, during which he represented Florida's 6th Congressional District. He's currently in second place behind Trump in the polls.

During a Monday press conference, the governor addressed his record as a current executive in contrast. "What is your take on the fact that Speaker McCarthy, who was leadership back then, doesn't think that you're fit to lead," a reporter had asked.
