IDF Spokesperson Predicts the World's Response as Israel Begins to Strike Back
Leah Barkoukis / Townhall Tipsheet

Hundreds of terrorists crossed from Gaza into Israel early Saturday morning, attacking dozens of Israeli communities and military bases, going house to house executing civilians, and abducting both civilians and military personnel, including women, children, the elderly and disabled, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, said in a video statement posted on X.

Conricus called the attack, which has killed more than 200 civilians thus far, “unprecedented,” but vowed that the Israeli response would be as well. The spokesperson noted, however, that the significant number of hostages the terrorists took will shape Israel’s response and “the future of this war.”

While central and southern Israel faced a barrage of more than 3,000 rocket attacks, the Iron Dome defense system prevented a number of casualties. Instead, the high death count came largely as a result of the close-contact executions. Read more see X and video here.

At least 100 dead as Hamas launches unprecedented attack on Israel, Netanyahu says nation is 'at war'
At least 40 were killed and hundreds wounded as Hamas terrorists launched rocket attacks and invaded Israel with guns

Iranian backed Hamas terrorists invaded areas of southern Israel as rocket barrages launched from the Gaza Strip struck the area on Saturday, killing at least 100 Israelis in an attack the Islamist movement Hamas is taking responsibility for.

A senior Hamas military commander, Mohammad Deif, announced the start of the operation in which he called on Palestinians everywhere to attack the Israelis.

"This is the day of the greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth," he said in a broadcast on Hamas media, saying that 5,000 rockets had been launched.

Local Israeli media reported that at least 100 people have been killed in the wide-ranging assault, while Gaza health officials say that 198 Palestinians have died in Israeli air strikes made in response to the Hamas attack. Hospitals are treating at least 561 wounded people, including 77 who were in critical condition, the Associated Press reported based on public statements and calls to hospitals. Instead of Biden addressing the issue directly, National Security Counsel spokesperson Adrienne Watson released a statement.

"The United States unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians. There is never any justification for terrorism. We stand firmly with the Government and people of Israel and extend our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks.  National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has spoken to Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi and we remain in close contact with our Israeli partners," Watson said.

Professor warns California's equity-based math curriculum will be a 'complete failure'
Stanford's Brian Conrad warns the 'equity'-based math curriculum will lead to 'dead ends' for students

A Stanford math professor issued a stark warning Thursday on California's new math curriculum, arguing the push for "equity" could backfire academically as students continue to reel from post-pandemic learning loss.

Brian Conrad, who read the entire 1,000-page teaching framework, joined "FOX & Friends" to discuss why the effort to include conventional math curriculum is critical in preparing kids for careers and college later in life.

"There are these things like advocating these alternative math options which are claimed to be pro-equity, but in fact the experience of San Francisco, for example, shows that when you block eighth-grade Algebra one, which was done in the effort to help to improve the demographics and the high school success rates, in fact, it was a complete failure," Conrad told Brian Kilmeade. "And yet this has been popping up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It's being proposed in Connecticut and other places, and this doesn't work. Read more and see videos here.

DeSantis Campaign Sees an Opening to Contrast Governor's Leadership With D.C. Chaos
Rebecca Downs / Townhall Tipsheet

On Thursday, the DeSantis War Room posted  video that began with highlighting the headlines and commentary that have come since Tuesday's ouster, including how "the Republican Party today just can't govern" and "has become the party that lacks discipline."

Included in the video is a warning from DeSantis himself, who warned while speaking to Fox News' Neil Cavuto that he's seen "a lack of leadership" as well as "a lot of political theater and performative stuff where people are fundraising or whatnot," in response to some of the eight Republican members having done just that.

The video also includes footage from DeSantis' performance during last week's second RNC debate in which he declared "I watch these guys in Washington D.C., and they don’t care about the American people. They don’t care about the fentanyl deaths. They don’t care about the communities being overrun because of this border. They don’t care about the Mexican drug cartels." Read more, see X and video here.
