Why Eric Adams requested White House meeting with Trump as his reelection chances hang by a thread
Craig McCarthy and Matt Troutman / NEW YORK POST

Mayor Eric Adams successfully requested a meeting with President Trump to score a win for New York City as he gears up for a long-shot bid to stay in City Hall, The Post has learned.

Adams jetted to Washington, DC, on Friday for a rare White House confab with Trump, where he’s expected to bend the president’s ear on the now-paused Empire Wind One project, Medicaid funding and state and local tax (SALT) deductions, a source briefed on the meeting told The Post.

The source said the embattled Adams, who faces a steep uphill reelection battle, is not only looking for a win, but also for his budding ally Trump to give him some credit.

The mayor wants to show that his strategy of cozying up to Trump and not joining most fellow city and state Democrats — and his opponents in the November mayoral race — in criticizing the president will bring about wins for the Big Apple, according to the source. Read more here.

Trump Wants to Dissolve These Three Agencies – A Federal Judge Won't Let Him
Jeff Charles / Townhall Tipsheet

A federal judge on Tuesday stopped the Trump administration from shutting down three federal agencies in the latest ruling against the White House’s agenda.

The administration sought to end funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Minority Business Development Agency, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. These agencies were originally established by Congress, an issue US District Judge John McConnell Jr. in Rhode Island brought up in his ruling.

 From ABC News:

U.S. District Judge John McConnell, Jr. in Rhode Island said Trump can't unilaterally end the funding and programs for the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Minority Business Development Agency and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. All three agencies were established by Congress.

Trump's March 14 executive order directing the agencies to cut as many staffers and programs as legally possible was "arbitrary and capricious," McConnell wrote in Tuesday's order. Read more and see Xs here,

New Report Shows the Cost of Biden's Gaza Terrorist Pier. It's Not Good.
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

Then-President Joe Biden wanted to help the terrorists in Gaza, so he greenlit a pier. We all knew it was a bad decision, but braindead Joe, being the undisputed leader for bad foreign policy decisions, decided to build one anyway. It was later abandoned, faced daily attacks by terrorists, and was a boondoggle that cost more than just money. Sixty-two American service members got injured in this fiasco, one of which died from his injuries.

It’s unclear when and where these casualties occurred, but suffice it to say that all of this happening to help Hamas seems steep. The report also painted a picture of dysfunction between the branches, where the US Army and Navy were not properly trained or equipped to handle the mission (via NY Post):

Former President Joe Biden’s failed floating Gaza pier plan left 62 US personnel injured, one service member dead and caused at least $31 million in damage to military equipment, according to a scathing Pentagon watchdog report that found the Army and Navy failed to properly plan, train for, prepare for and coordinate the mission.

Trump Confirms Which Major Country Has Made a Trade Deal
Katie Pavlich Townhall / Townhall Tipsheet

President Donald Trump confirmed early Thursday morning the United Kingdom is the first major country to make a new trade deal with the United States.

"This should be a very big and exciting day for the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Press Conference at The Oval Office, 10 A.M. Thank you!" Trump posted on Truth Social. "The agreement with the United Kingdom is a full and comprehensive one that will cement the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom for many years to come. Because of our long time history and allegiance together, it is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our FIRST announcement. Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!"

In February, Trump hosted UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House and has been deeply involved in negotiations. The UK called it "one of the most consequential meetings of a British prime minister and president that we have had since the Second World War" with the UK Embassy adding, Read more, see Xs and videos here.
