Strains emerge in US–Saudi talks on Israel normalization, Axios reports
In public, Trump and bin Salman flattered one another; however, part of their closed-door discussions were reportedly tense.

US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a “civil but difficult” meeting at the White House last week in which talks grew tense over Saudi–Israel normalization, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing US officials.

In public, Trump and bin Salman flattered one another; however, part of their closed-door discussions were tense, according to Axios. Trump was disappointed to hear the pushback from the Saudi crown prince, the report stated, citing officials.

During a public meeting at the White House with bin Salman, Trump said he received a positive response from the Saudi crown prince on Saudi-Israeli normalization during their conversations.

Bin Salman said he wants his country to be part of the Abraham Accords, but also make sure to secure a path to a two-state solution."

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday his plan to end the war in Ukraine has been “fine-tuned” and he’s sending envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to meet with Ukrainian officials.

He suggested he could eventually meet with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but not until further progress has been made in negotiations.

“I will be briefed on all progress made, along with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,” Trump added in the social media posting. “I look forward to hopefully meeting with President Zelenskyy and President Putin soon, but ONLY when the deal to end this War is FINAL or, in its final stages.”

Trump spoke after Driscoll held talks late Monday and throughout Tuesday with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to discuss the emerging...Read more here.

Just a Thought

Initial Ukraine-Russia peace plan was hashed out over dinners in Miami –  Rubio was unaware of ‘full scope’ until the day draft leaked: report

Victor Nava / NEW YORK POST

The plan, which has since been revised to 19 points, initially demanded Ukraine make heavy concessions – including giving up territory in the east, capping the size of its military and agreeing to never join NATO – while asking Russia to barely give up anything.

Witkoff and Kushner started working on the document in October, after Trump tasked administration officials with hatching a plan to end the bloodiest fighting in Europe since World War II in the wake of brokering a peace deal in Gaza, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

The pair held “secret meetings” and dinners in Miami with Kirill Dmitriev, a financier and close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, while working out the details of the peace plan, according to the outlet.

“They brought him to Miami the weekend before Halloween for what would be three days of intensive discussions over dinner and extended conversation at Witkoff’s home,” US officials and people familiar with the matter told the Journal. Read more and here.

Federal Judge Issues Predictable Ruling on Letitia James and James Comey

A federal judge has thrown out the Justice Department’s prosecutions against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The DOJ indicted Comey for allegedly lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding. James was accused of mortgage fraud for allegedly providing false information about several homes she owns on mortgage applications. Both individuals have been vocal critics of President Donald Trump, with James leading a lawsuit against Trump’s companies alleging fraud.

Senior U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie dismissed the indictments against Comey and James on Monday. He determined that the appointment of Interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan was unlawful. The judge concluded that “the Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms...Read more and see Xs here.

The Pentagon said Monday it is investigating Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, a retired U.S. Navy fighter pilot and NASA astronaut, for possible violations of military law after he appeared in a video with other Democratic lawmakers urging active duty military and intelligence personnel to refuse "illegal orders."

In the case of Kelly, the Pentagon put out a statement saying that it had "received serious allegations of misconduct against Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Ret.)," and that "a thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures."

The statement, posted on X, said: "This matter will be handled in compliance with military law, ensuring due process and impartiality. Further official comments will be limited, to preserve the integrity of the proceedings.'
