In support of our troops

1,800 YEARS LATER TROOPS STILL JUST WANT TO HEAR FROM HOME

Just like the troops of antiquity, hearing from home is the most important thing our troops need while serving so far from all their friends and family back home. The smallest note of encouragement means everything to someone serving overseas. Sadly, we constantly hear that our Care Packages are the only piece of mail that many troops will receive all year.

Troops in ancient times desperately wanted to hear from home, just like today. It's that challenge that Move America Forward strives to meet head on with every single Care Package we send.
Aurelius Polion Pleas to hear from his family"Aurelius Polion" wrote this newly discovered and translated letter some 1,800 years ago, but its words are the exact same troops write today. It reads just like other letters and messages Move America Forward receives from Afghanistan.

Addressed to his mother (a bread seller), sister and brother, part of it reads:
"I pray that you are in good health night and day, and I always make obeisance before all the gods on your behalf. I do not cease writing to you, but you do not have me in mind."

He, like today's troops, are volunteers that signed up to serve knowing that it would mean leaving their family and friends thousands of miles behind to ensure all of their safety. In his letter, Polion continues on to tell his family that he is desperate to hear from them and despite sending 6 other letter he still has not heard from them and that  he looks forward to the day that he can come home.

Just like today's troops, in this letter he describes hearing from home as most important thing he wants most.

But this is a story we hear far too often today, as people go on about their lives it is easy to forget about sending your love and support to those who are deployed in Afghanistan. They need your support TODAY

Right now you can reach someone like SSgt Martin (pictured above with another member of his unit) or the thousands of others who just like "Aurelius Polion", desperately want to hear from home.
