These political aims are the aims of a political ideology for whom religion is secondary to its political goals, which seeks to establish its political power and repressive sharia law by force on all the world. The goals of Islam are contary to our constitutional freedoms of free speech, free press, freedom of religion, freedom of artistic expression , and equality of all before the law. Maududi says, Islam intends to destroy those freedoms by force of jihad and make sharia law the law of the land.
Accordingly to protect our country and constitution against this political enemy, Islam, we need a constitutional amendment that makes it clear that Islam is not considered a religion within the meaning of the Constitution and Laws of the United States or any state thereof. and that no Court of the United States of any state thereof shall recognize or enforce sharia law. We cannot allow a political ideology hostile to our constitution to enjoy the status and protections that we afford to a religion that limits itself to being a religion.
