FLORIDA: Broward County Sheriff candidate is running to get sharia-compliant CAIR-affiliated Muslims off the police force

Broward County Sheriff candidate David Rosenthal said he doesn’t necessarily want to harm Muslims but just doesn’t want them around, especially in law enforcement. That’s why he’s running to replace Scott Israel as Broward sheriff because Israel hired as his deputy sheriff, Nezar Hamze (photo above), leader of a Florida chapter of designated terrorist group CAIR. “I hate Islam. Islam is evil,” Rosenthal said. “Ideally, I would ban Islam in the United States.”

NewTimes  (h/t Mike F) Rosenthal is now on something of a jihad against one particular Muslim, Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy Nezar Hamze, saying Hamze, who also serves as a director at the Florida chapter of the designated terrorists group CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), is unfit to serve in law enforcement, in part, because he refuses to renounce Islamic law, or Sharia. The anti-Islam group also called for Sheriff Scott Israel, who refused comment for this story, to resign for hiring Hamze last year.

Apparently, he didn’t. Now, Rosenthal has become so infuriated about the CAIR activist working as a cop, he says he’s running for Broward sheriff, in order to “remove the terrorist deputy sheriff” and “investigate other Sharia-compliant Muslims now in official posts in Broward.” He hasn’t yet filed necessary paperwork with the elections division, but on Friday, he launched a GoFundMe page to crowdsource cash to pay his campaign filing fees.

 

Frontpage  Nezar Hamze is a leader in the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). He is also a Deputy Sheriff in the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and has taken the opportunity to exploit his position in law enforcement to assist his Islamist friends in their desire for weapons training. Last December, he traveled to the Tampa, Florida area to perform weapons training at the Daarus Salaam Mosque, also known as the Islamic Society of New Tampa (ISONET), a mosque associated with all three US groups named, including CAIR, to the UAE’s list of terrorist organizations.

In July 2014, CAIR-Florida co-sponsored a pro-Hamas rally in Downtown Miami, where rally goers shouted, “We are Hamas” and “Let’s go Hamas.” Following the rally, the event organizer, Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout, wrote, “Thank God, every day we conquer the American Jews like our conquests over the Jews of Israel!” In August 2014, CAIR-Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly  wrote, “Israel and its supporters are enemies of G-d…”

In November 2014, CAIR was one of three groups operating within the United States to be named a terrorist organization by the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE). The other two US-based groups named were the Muslim American Society (MAS) and Islamic Relief (IR). Additional groups named were ISIS, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram.

Local10  “I am against Sharia-compliant Muslims having any position in government, law enforcement or the schools,” Rosenthal said.

 

That might sound like outrageous religious bigotry, but Rosenthal is not alone. He said 50 people attended a rally he organized outside the Broward Sheriff’s Office in October. Among those in attendance were Tea Party Fort Lauderdale founder Danita Kilcullen and congressional candidate Joe Kaufman.

 

Radio host Joyce Kaufman, of 850-WFTL, has criticized the hiring of Hamze on her show, and a post critical of the hire of Hamze placed on a BSO forum at LeoAffairs.com has received a whopping 70,000 views, making it one of the most-clicked posts ever to appear on the forum.

 

“CAIR has been named by the United States government as a co-conspirator in the funding of terrorism,” Rosenthal said. He is referring to a 2004 federal case that named a CAIR leader in Washington as an unindicted co-conspirator involved in illegal fundraising for the Palestinian group Hamas, which has been designated as a terrorist organization.

 

Rosenthal said he believes Hamze is one of many Muslims infiltrating local government in a bid to turn the country over to Sharia law. “The Islamization of Broward County has begun,” he said.

 

But Rosenthal goes beyond even wanting to ban Islam. He said Hamze and others who follow Sharia should leave America. “You don’t think he has the same right to be in this country as you do?” asked Local 10 News investigative reporter Bob Norman.  “No,” Rosenthal said, repeating that he wants the religion banned in the United States.
