Tanzania has announced the opening of its first embassy ever in Israel, and set the date of the ribbon cutting for next week.The May 8 ceremony will be attended by some of Tanzania’s highest political and diplomatic officials.
Foreign Minister Augustine Mahiga will be making a historic, first-ever trip to Israel for the event.
The announcement comes on the heels of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Africa in 2017, the first time the Israeli chief had ever visited the area and after which he signed the “Africa Power” agreement.
