...So if diplomacy and happy
endings were to end the war, if all the remaining hostages and the
bodies of the Jewish dead were returned to Israel in one last swap,
Hamas by default would lose not only what they perceive to be some
semblance of control in Gaza and in the political discourse, but
those they answer to in Iran would see this as a humiliated defeat at
the hands of both the “little and great Satan.” Simply,
the hostages and the bodies are all Hamas has left to bargain with
and, in my opinion, the hostages alone are the sole assurance of
their...Hamas'...survival, especially since, thanks to President
Trump, Israel now has in its arsenal bombs that can probably level
Gaza and what's left of Hamas in one fell swoop.
And it's for the above stated reasons that I do believe Hamas will not...no matter their willingness to resume ceasefire talks...give into any of Netanyahu's or even President Trump's demands and threats. Why so... because a caged animal will always fight to the bitter end for they have nothing, except everything, to lose if they do not.
