How the House GOP Is Looking to Embarrass the Democratic Party on Israel

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Senate floor last week, and President Joe Biden is building a floating pier to deliver aid to the terrorists. Biden is also trying to call the shots in Israel’s war against Hamas as if he’s in any position to make such demands. Israeli forces are poised to invade and take over Rafah, one of the last remaining strongholds in Gaza. Biden doesn’t want that for political reasons: the longer this war continues, the more support he loses with Arab Americans and young voters. Biden and Netanyahu have a tense relationship. It can’t be easy for Bibi to work with someone who’s been wrong on foreign policy for the past four decades.

House Republicans want to stick the dagger in the backs of Democrats on this one: they’re mulling inviting the Israeli prime minister to address Congress. It not only shows America’s ironclad commitment to the Jewish state but provides an opportunity to humiliate the Democrats.

Latest DHS Error Once Again Highlights the Incompetence of Secretary Mayorkas

Illegal immigration was shambolic under Barack Obama. His left-leaning critics will point to the record number of deportations that occurred under his presidency. They’re right—but he also did nothing to enforce border security. He allowed illegal aliens to come right back into the country. This clip here perfectly captures Obama’s immigration policy.

Under Biden, we’ve lost operational control of the border, illegals are pouring in like the Great Flood, and the Democratic Party’s lax attitudes on public safety have led to mayhem in the cities. The spike in crime was bad enough; compounding it with perpetrators who shouldn’t be here is worse.

The rapes, murders, thefts, and assaults committed by illegal alien thugs are preventable, but the Biden policy toward illegal immigration is atrociously absent. It’s by design, which makes it more odious. Now, we’re hearing that some 200,000 deportation cases got tossed by the courts because Biden officials forgot to file the proper paperwork (via NY Post):

Here's what raises will be like this year, per a new survey
Emily Peck author ofAxios Markets / AXIOS

Companies expect to give out 4.5% raises this year — a dip from the 4.8% average bump given in 2023, per a new survey of human resources professionals out Wednesday morning.

Why it matters: It's another sign that the job market is cooling but still strong — raises will likely outpace inflation in 2024.

By the numbers: Just over 79% of companies plan on giving pay raises this year, the lowest since 2021 — and 6 points below 2019, according to Payscale, which has conducted this survey for the past 15 years.

  • Payscale surveyed 5,735 HR leaders, compensation professionals and business owners from November to December 2023.
  • About a third of respondents are in industries mostly comprised of blue-collar workers, who are seeing bigger raises.
Biden Breaks a Record Concerning US Embassies... But Not in a Good Way
Leah Barkoukis / Townhall Tipsheet

The Biden administration has made history, but not in a good way. During the president's tenure thus far, his administration has had to carry out more evacuations of U.S. embassies around the world than any other previous administration.

With Haiti descending into violent anarchy, nonessential U.S. embassy staff were evacuated by the Marine Corps on March 10. This effort marked the 11th time a U.S. embassy has had to fully or partially evacuate on President Biden’s watch.

Since Biden took office in January 2021, his State Department has partially or fully evacuated 11 U.S. embassies via what are known as authorized or ordered departure directives.

President Barack Obama presided over the second-most embassy evacuations of any administration with a total of eight over two terms (Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Central African Republic, and South Sudan), or about one a year. Donald Trump presided over three partial evacuations in his four years as president.

Op-ed:
A November Reality Check

...
Simply and to the point, our beloved American republic is now facing both a political and a moral fight for her very survival with her winning or losing said battle being decided this November 5th. And when you narrow down the actual logistics involved you will see that the fight we now face is not just between two political parties or their chosen candidates per se, but between the entirety of the left's misguided push for “diversity” and “equity”...  what some call “cultural progressiveness”...verses the right's concept of “fair play” coupled with taking responsibility for one's own actions.

Basically, not only is our Constitution as the rule of law at stake, but the very fabric, character, values, and moral compass that is the hallmark of American culture is being hijacked by those who not only want but demand that America fails. A war between “good and evil” some like to call the upcoming election relating it back to the Biblical sense, but I personally do not see this election in such simplistic and archaic terms for I see the here and now tangibles that come November we might well be facing America's last stand...at least the America as we on the right know and love her to be...Read entire article here.

Texas Just Got Some Bad News From the Supreme Court About Their Immigration Law
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

God bless Texas. The state is doing everything it can to curb the flow of illegal immigrants. They erected a floating barrier in the Rio Grande, which the courts slapped down. The state legislature opted to pass a law empowering police to detain persons who entered the country illegally.

Most, if not all, of SB4 is already federal law. Still, the inability and unwillingness of the Biden administration to tackle the southern border has forced Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to make moves. The deadline for a decision about this bill was to expire at 5 PM EST. Justice Alito opted to extend the injunction concerning the enforcement of SB4 as the courts sift through the legality of the legislation (via CBS News)

"Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Monday extended an order barring Texas officials from detaining and jailing migrants suspected of crossing the U.S. southern border without authorization under a new state immigration law known as SB4 that the Biden administration has called....Read more and see X here.
