Op-ed:
And the list continues to grow
By: Diane Sori

Congressman Allen West, presidential candidate Herman Cain, former Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice, political commentator and blogger Mychal Massie, blogtalk radio’s Stacy Swimp,...what do these highly respected and honored Black political leaders have in common...they all are outspoken critics of Barack Hussein Obama.

And now we can add former Alabama Congressman Arthur Davis to that growing list.

Congressman Davis' name on that list is quite important for a number of reasons.  First, Congressman Davis was the first member of Congress NOT from Illinois to endorse then Senator Obama’s 2008 presidential run. Second, Congressman Davis was the man who seconded the official nomination of Obama at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.  And third, and this is a big one, Congressman Davis was also co-chairman for Barack Hussein Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Imagine that...a former campaign chair and friend now outwardly and vocally turning against ‘the anointed one.’

Posting on his website today and speaking on FOX News this morning, Congressman Davis (who represented Alabama’s 7th Congressional District from 2003 to 2011) said: “If I were to run, it would be as a Republican.  And I am in the process of changing my voter registration from Alabama to Virginia, a development which likely does represent a closing of one chapter and perhaps the opening of another.”

“If I was to run (anytime in the future) it would be as a Republican.”  The importance of those words cannot be stressed enough.

“I supported President Obama four years ago because I wanted to see this country come together...unfortunately, we’ve gone backwards...what we’re doing is not working,” Davis said.

“We’ve gone backwards”...those powerful words say it all, and coming from a Black man, the weight of those words will hopefully resonate within the black community.

Davis continued to say that since leaving Congress he had time to think about what was really happening in this country since Obama took office, and that now he could do so without his having to worry about pandering for votes.  And the bottom line he realized was that we are losing ground in this country economically, socially, and spiritually, and as such his views are now “more aligned with the ‘R’ side than the ‘D’ side at this point.”

Also, in direct opposition to this president who we all know is blatantly trying to lead our country down the path towards socialism, Davis stated that one of his reasons for walking away from Obama was that while ”...capitalism is not always pretty...free markets are not always pretty...but they beat every other system in the world.”

And probably, if not as important as Obama’s total lack of understanding of economics and how it relates to our flailing economy, this comes in a close second...Congressman Davis has now come to accept what we have known for a long time...Barack Hussein Obama is divider NOT the uniter he promised he would be.

So there you have it...another Black leader who sees the truth about Barack Hussein Obama...another Black leader putting race aside for the good of America...another Black leader who is NOT falling for the hate spewed by the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farakham...another Black leader who ‘gets it’!

Hopefully, many more will soon follow.
