On Christmas Trees and First Ladies
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

Soon it will be Christmas...the day when true believers worldwide celebrate the birth of one small child who forever changed the course of both history and mankind.
Usually on this holy day we pray that for at least a few hours we have 'Peace on Earth...Good Will Toward Men'...a laying down of arms if you will. But in today's volatile world so awash in hate, anger, and terrorism, peace and good will most likely still allude us even for a few precious hours on so special a day.

Peace will allude us even as some in our own country...as in liberals...do everything they can to take Christmas away from believers. In their effort to appease the non-believers at every turn they forget that the Christmas spirit remains true in the hearts and minds of most Americans for 'We the People' know that our beloved America was, is, and will always remain a Judeo-Christian nation founded upon a belief in God the Father, His Son, and on the Jewish patriarchs whose law came first.
And now our hearts and our minds can smile in knowing that for the first time in eight long years we can relish in again saying the words 'Merry Christmas' not the forced-down-our-throats politically correct nonsense known as 'Happy Holidays'...the hallmark of the Obama years.

And while the White House observance of Christmas before the twentieth century was not an official event...in fact, Christmas trees themselves were looked upon as being a pagan symbol in the early years of our nation's founding with only German settlers, whose tradition it was, having said trees in their homes...thankfully the regalia and pageantry that is Christmas will now be heralded once again...heralded like it was in the 1880s, when then President Benjamin Harrison decorated the first indoor White House Christmas Tree with lit candles and toys.
And when in 1894, President Grover Cleveland replaced the candles with electric lights off and running a White House Christmas went...and from the very moment the first electric Christmas lights were turned on, Christmas as a national celebration replete with all the trappings of lights, trees, carolers, and gift exchanges happily was embraced...embraced but always with the underlying hope and prayer that the coming New Year would be a better one than the year before.
Surely a better year what with class, glamour, and a true love of country once again setting the tone not just for the year to come but for a White House Christmas as well. And while most, but not all, of our presidents loved our country and loved Christmas...as they reveled in Christmas traditions, family, and friends as much as we do today...it was our nation's First Ladies who were charged with setting the decorating tone for all the White House Christmas trees and displays, especially for our nation's 'official' Christmas Tree, the one that stands in the Blue Room.
And it all started in 1929 when then First Lady Lou Henry Hoover herself decorated the Blue Room Christmas Tree and a tradition was born, although during the years of both the Great Depression and World War II the White House trees and decorations were quite simple and held to a minimum. But in 1961, when Camelot ruled, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy started the tradition of picking themes for the official White House Christmas Tree and decorations. Dressing the Blue Room tree and White House entry with ornaments depicting characters from the Nutcracker Suite ballet, Mrs. Kennedy's first theme has been revisited this year by our new First Lady Melania Trump.
In 1965, Lady Bird Johnson decorated the official Blue Room tree with popcorn strands...a popular theme in the 1960's...coupled with a mixed bag of ornaments. In 1970, First Lady Pat Nixon saw the official tree being decorated with silver tinsel and glass ornaments, while First Lady Betty Ford decorated the main tree in the Blue Room with large ribbons and a mix of traditional glass ornaments. Switching to a 'homey look' in 1975, Mrs. Ford decorated the Blue Room Christmas Tree once again with multiple strands of popcorn, adding wooden ornaments and a criss-cross of paper chains.
And while in 1977, Rosalyn Carter decorated the Blue Room's Christmas Tree with an array of ornaments and white twinkling lights, it was in 1978, that a bit of glamour surfaced when she decorated a 20-foot tree with gold ornaments and surrounded the bottom with antique toys and a miniature house. However, it was not until 1980 and a Reagan presidency that the glamour and class that had been Camelot visited the White House again. In fact, in 1982, First Lady Nancy Reagan dressed the main Blue Room Christmas Tree in a sophisticated array of sparkling white lights, gold ornaments and host of velvet white angels. Camelot Hollywood-style became the rule of the day...for a short but memorable time anyway.
In 1989 and in 1991, a more homespun tree decorated the Blue Room with dolls depicting children's book characters and needlepoint ornaments respectively being the choice of First Lady Barbara Bush. And the Clinton years heralded in what Hillary called “funky and down to earth'' trees that she had decorated with handmade dolls and ornaments with a replica of her cat Socks being the tree-topper. Continued throughout their time in office, this simpler style of tree decorating with ornaments made by school children, artisans, and a Santa's Workshop theme seemed more in line with Billy-Boy's more humble roots than with the pageantry that is Christmas, and went along with her “it takes a village” musings.
As expected, White House tours were suspended in 2001 after the horror of 9/11, and the public was unable to see the 'Home for the Holidays' decorations that First Lady Laura Bush so lovingly decorated with. But with Laura having a quite eclectic taste, her Christmas trees ran the gamut from the 2002 'All Creatures Great and Small' theme that honored White House pets through the years, to her nature inspired 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' theme in 2005 which saw the official tree in the Blue Room decorated with fresh white lilies...truly beautiful to behold. And as their last Blue Room Christmas Tree, Laura had the tree decked out in red, whites, and blues...patriotism on display for the Bush's truly loved and still love our troops.
Now as for Michelle Obama...who not so secretly always tried to politicize Christmas with her liberal agenda on full display even in her choice of White House Christmas themes. Ranging from her 2009 first year's supposedly environmentally conscious 'Reflect, Rejoice and Renew' theme replete with the Blue Room official tree being dimly lit with LED lights and an oh so controversial Mao Zedong ornament on it, to her 2013 tree that supposedly honored military families while invoking the theme 'Shine, Give, Share.' Decorated with framed military medals and handmade cards from children living on U.S. military bases around the world, it sounds honorable doesn't it but not coming from this First Lady as this was the same military her husband defamed, dishonored, and apologized for...nothing but hypocrisy I would say.
Again using the military theme in 2015 when the ribbon that decorated the stars and stripes-themed Christmas tree was inscribed with messages to U.S. troops from their families, this tree was insulting enough as it came from the woman who during a 9/11 ceremony said, "All this for a damn flag." But the ultimate insult, in my opinion, was when in 2016, the last year the Obama's occupied the White House, Michelle used as the theme 'The Gift of the Holidays' with that year's ribbon decorating the official Blue Room tree having written upon it the preamble to the U.S. Constitution...the very Constitution her husband had said was a “deeply flawed” outdated no longer relevant document, and that our Constitution was “just a piece of parchment”...a true slap in the face to our Founders and Framers who he also said had “an enormous blind spot” when they wrote it.
But now that has all changed as glamour, elegance, class, and a true love for our country is on display for all to see with our new First Lady Melania Trump's Christmas theme 'Time-Honored Traditions.'...a theme honoring 200 years of White House Christmas' past. Elegantly subtle in its simplicity yet with class unseen in years, Melania's sense of style and grace can be seen in the white tree branches adorned with crystal ornaments and drops that line the White House's East Colonnade.

And in a nod to Jacqueline Kennedy, a class act herself, Melania echoed Mrs. Kennedy's first themed Christmas at the White House...the Nutcracker Suite...as ballerina's danced the holiday tradition amongst the shimmering icy branches. And the official 2017 Christmas Tree gracing the Blue Room is covered in white lights, blue and gold ornaments, pine cones, and yards and yards of blue velvet ribbon...again class and elegance personified. Touching the ceiling at 18 feet, 6 inches tall the pine tree is adorned with ornaments representing all 50 states and territories, along with blue and gold bows. A true nod to one and all that together we comprise these United States.

And a very special tree...a tree so special it is the first tree seen on official White House tours...is also lovingly touched with Melania's grace. The Gold Star Tree...a tree both majestically beautiful and hauntingly sad...is decorated with gold stars and patriotic ribbons as it honors brave heroes lost...troops fallen in battle yet never to be forgotten...never forgotten by America's newest Commander-in-Chief who holds Americas bravest so close to his heart.

And so with Christmas but a few days away...I wish all who celebrate the birth of so special a child a very Merry Christmas filled with peace, love, and joy. And may the New Year unite 'We the People' together and bring us closer to God as our beloved America once again shines as bright as the shimmering lights that herald the very spirit of all that is Christmas.

A Politically Correct Christmas is NOT Christmas
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / www.americanpbn.com
(Author's note: This piece first ran in 2013 but has been updated.)

Soon it will be Christmas...the day when believers worldwide celebrate the birth of one small child who forever changed the course of humanity.

Usually on this holy day we hope for at least a few hours of peace in the world...a laying down of arms if you will...but in today's volatile world so affected by those out to kill us all, peace probably still will allude us even for those hoped for precious few hours.

Peace will allude us as some even in our own country who do not honor the one true living God do everything they can to take Christmas away from believers. But try as they might the Christmas spirit remains in the hearts and minds of most Americans for 'We the People' know that America was, is, and will always remain a Judeo-Christian nation founded upon a belief in God the Father, His Son, and on the Jewish patriarchs who came before.

Christmas did not become a nationally recognized American holiday until 1870. Before then Christmas celebrations were frowned upon in certain northern regions of our country, because people associated the grandeur of Christmas pageantry with the European monarchs they so opposed. But by the 1880s, Christmas more as we know and celebrate it began to appear when President Benjamin Harrison decorated the first indoor White House tree with lit candles and toys. In 1894, President Grover Cleveland replaced the candles with electric lights and off and running a White House Christmas went.

And from the very moment that the first electric Christmas lights were turned on, Christmas as a national celebration took off all across our land with all the trappings of lights, trees, carolers, gift exchanges, and with a hope that the coming New Year would always be better than the year before.

And most of our presidents loved Christmas...they reveled in Christmas traditions, family, and friends, and the true meaning of Christmas was NOT lost on them...like it is on the current occupants of the White House. And for many of our presidents and their families choosing the right Christmas card was very important for their wishes set the tone for the holiday. For example, in 2001 First Lady Laura Bush...back when our First Lady was indeed a Lady...sent out official White House Christmas cards with a verse of Scripture (Psalm 27) printed upon them...a Scripture verse she chose mere days after 9/11. The card simply said, “Thy face, Lord, do I seek. I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the Living” Powerful words in the aftermath of tragedy...powerful words to help console and comfort a grieving nation...powerful words so appropriate on Christmas Day.

And so many of the Christmas cards sent showed the true inner character of the president who sent them. Abraham Lincoln requested that cartoonist Thomas Nast create a special Civil War themed Christmas card to honor those fighting and those now gone. Dwight D. Eisenhower created personalized cards when he himself painted six of the eight Christmas gift prints that he gave to his White House staff each holiday season.

And our beloved Ronald Reagan put a line from one of his speeches onto his first Christmas card as president that sums up the true meaning of Christmas, “The greatest gift we can give each other is the gift of ourselves.” In other words, Reagan spoke of helping his fellow man...NO fancy gifts needed.

But sadly, John F. Kennedy ushered in the ongoing era of political correctness when in 1961, his official Christmas card said “Season’s Greetings 1961” on the cover and only on the inside did it say Merry Christmas. And the Christmas cards he sent to world leaders had a generalized New Year’s greeting that did NOT mention the word Christmas at all...sad indeed.

However, that same year, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy began the tradition of selecting a theme for the official White House Christmas tree, and each year since then the themes have varied with the First Ladies wishes. But Laura Bush's 2008 'A Red, White and Blue Christmas' was especially touching as it was inspired by letters from everyday Americans that began arriving at the White House soon after September 11th. Many suggested that the White House have a red, white and blue Christmas theme...and they did...honorable folks the Bush's were and still are.

But obviously some Christmas' were rightfully bleak, for in times of war revelry was toned down. And this was the case during the FDR years. During the Depression and into World War II, Roosevelt would gather his family and friends to come sit before the White House tree as he read Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' to them. And while FDR kept the glitzy celebration aspect to a minimum, his simple action of reading a story spoken from the heart was in keeping with the true meaning of the season.

And these but brief glimpses of past presidential Christmas traditions and cards all lead up to this current president, whose official 2013 White House Christmas card with its stark white pop-up picture of the White House totally undecorated in Christmas splendor said, "It's a message both timeless and universal-no matter what God you pray to, or if you pray to none at all...as we gather around this season, may the warmth and joy of the holidays fill your home." NOT a word said of Christmas...NOT a word said of the one true living God...NOT a tree nor a Christmas decoration in sight...from the man who professes to be a Christian yet a man whose very words and actions say he's anything but.

And while Obama's 2014 White House Christmas card did show a glimpse of a Christmas tree in a distant hall of the White House, the message again is cold, generic, and oh-so politically correct. Saying, "In the wondrous season, may the spirit of the holiday bring you strength and happiness," Obama speaks of a 'season' and a 'spirit' but still refuses to recognize or honor the very man whose 'spirit' defines what the 'season' is truly about.

And political correctness again is the order of the day as this year's White House Christmas card comes replete with the words, "With gratitude and cheer, we send our warmest wishes for health and happiness this holiday season," 'This holiday season' as Obama again chose a pop-up card...and like the one two years before is devoid of anything Christmas-like but for a few scattered snowflakes, and with the White House, the Capitol, and the Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials in red on the inside...a sublime shout-out to his communist roots perhaps...the message this time is even more generic and cold. And when the card is unfolded and put in place, the way our national monuments are stacked and laid out reminds me somewhat of a mosque with the minuet standing tall above all else. A message perhaps...

So as this man who is the epitome of all the vileness that is the hallmark of political correctness...as this man who is NOT a man of God...and as this man willfully chooses his words so as NOT to honor the true meaning of Christmas jets off to Hawaii with his family...on our taxpayer dime...to once again spend Christmas on the golf course slipping pina-coladas NO doubt...it's obvious he's running far away from both the religious aspects of Christmas and from all the problems he built, owns, and again dumped on 'We the People' this Christmas season.

And so I...one who will NEVER bow to political correctness...would like to wish all who celebrate the birth of the Savior a very un-politically correct 'Merry Christmas'...a 'Merry Christmas' filled with peace, love, and joy. And may the New Year bring us closer to God and to a true love of this country...a love of country so strong that we will willingly fight hard to keep her...and always remember that America will survive because America must survive...it really is that simple.

A politically correct Christmas is NOT Christmas

Tomorrow is Christmas...the day when believers worldwide celebrate the birth of one small child who changed the course of humanity.

Michelle's gift to America...discuss ObamaCare on Christmas Day
By: Diane Sori

Christmas Day...a time for family and friends to honor the birth of God's only begotten Son. Christmas Day...the day the birth of one small child forever changed the course of humanity. Christmas Day...the day Michelle Obama asks that as you and your family gather around your tree and eat your Christmas meal that you use that time to talk about health care...to visit the exchanges... and decide which plan is right for you and your family.

Christmas Day...a day of the year that is for anything but a discussion on ObamaCare.

Barack HUSSEIN Obama, since leaving Jeremiah Wright's 'G-D America' church of 20 years attendance does NOT now regularly attend church, and Christmas Day is NO exception. And while he and Michelle do have a Christmas tree in their private quarters at the White House, a tree does NOT Christmas make...especially when year after year the tree is left behind as they jet off to Hawaii for yet another Christmas vacation taken on our taxpayer dime. Christmas to the Obama's is lounging by the pool and playing rounds of golf...just another fun-filled day in paradise uninterrupted by the seriousness of prayers or the celebration of the Savior's birth.

And with discussions about ObamaCare sure to come up in talk amongst the Obama's...as would anything that bears Mr. Narcissist's name...Michelle wanting 'We the People' to discuss health care...to discuss ObamaCare...on Christmas Day seems quite the norm to America's wannabe royal family.

The norm to them maybe, but far from the norm to Christians, Catholics, and Protestants throughout America as Christmas is being hijacked by people like the Obama's who have NO idea of the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is also being hijacked by atheists, secularists, and progressives all with the goal of transforming Christmas into just another day of the year. And with school Christmas programs and parties becoming 'Winter Festivals', and with government offices and a multitude of commercial businesses having replaced the words 'Merry Christmas' with 'Happy Holidays' so as NOT to step on toes of non-believers, the 93% of Americans who celebrate Christmas and the 97% of Americans who are NOT in the least offended by the use of the words 'Merry Christmas' are now being dictated to by the 3% that are driving public policy for the rest of us...and we are doing little if anything to stop this.

And since she has NO idea of the true meaning of Christmas, into this group of Christmas hijackers charges Christmas Scrooge Michelle Obama...the woman who is trying to pull her lying husband and his miserable health care disaster out of the fire...is now asking 97% of the American population to put aside their family Christmas traditions and family talk to instead discuss ObamaCare.

If anyone deserves a lump of coal in their stocking it is Michele Obama for even mentioning this as a topic for Christmas Day conversation, much less using the sanctity of Christmas Day as a political forum for trying to win over women...for that is what this is about...the women who the Democrats so desperately need on their side come the 2014 midterm elections...is despicable at best...disgusting at worst.

Talk about a 'War on Women'...this is Michelle's own private war on both Christmas and on women.

With a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll reporting that 49% of women now have an unfavorable view of ObamaCare, compared to 33% with a favorable view, you can understand...but NOT excuse...the desperation in this most despicable of political pandering on the day of Christ's birth.

And when you consider that of all recent presidents, Barack HUSSEIN Obama is the one who has had the least involvement in the true message and meaning of Christmas, Michelle doing what she's doing all makes sense...albeit warped sense at best.

On December 24, 2009, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, in his first Christmas message to the nation as president, delivered the most generic and bland of Christmas addresses said with NO emotion or belief in his heart as he described the miracle birth in Bethlehem as a nondescript “message of peace and brotherhood that continues to inspire more than 2,000 years after Jesus’ birth.”

In his 2010 Christmas address to the nation, Obama spoke that "we are our brother’s keeper, we are our sister’s keeper, our separate stories in this big and busy world are really one." Nothing like throwing a call out to his oh so wanted New World Order in a Christmas message..

In his 2011 Christmas Address, Barack HUSSEIN Obama rehashed his 2010 message using slightly different words but again doing a call out to his New World Order way of thinking saying, "And this holiday season, let us reaffirm our commitment to each other, as family members, as neighbors, as Americans, regardless of our color or creed or faith. Let us remember that we are one, and we are a family."

And in last year's address given together as a couple, Michelle Obama for her part said, and I quote, "We both love this time of year. And there’s nothing quite like celebrating the holidays at the White House. It’s an incredible experience and one that we try to share with as many folks as possible."

Uhhhh...excuse me but last year the Obama's did NOT celebrate Christmas at the White House...last year just like they will be doing again this year...the Obama's will be spending Christmas in Hawaii in yet another of their countless vacations taken on our taxpayer dime.

Lying about where one spends Christmas is but another lie in the Obama family ever expanding circle of lies. And if Michelle herself can lie about something as simple as where she spent Christmas she sure as hell can demean this most holy of days by asking folks to talk about ObamaCare instead of celebrating the birth of the man she and her husband mock every time they host a Ramadan dinner at the White House...good muslims that they are.

Merry Christmas everyone and don't forget NOT to talk about ObamaCare on Christmas Day.
