It's More Than Just About Other People's Money
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

Recently reported was that nearly half of all millennials are willing to live under socialism as they view capitalism as being on par with four-letter words. Never mind that socialism has failed wherever and whenever it's been tried making it truly sad that millennials erroneously equate capitalism with the belief that the already wealthy get wealthier while the sum of all others get little to nothing. And that belief can be blamed not only on the left's lovefest with fake news but also on our schools of "higher indoctrination"...schools formerly known as colleges and universities...not teaching historical and societal truths let alone economics 101.

Now add in that millennials and most of the uninformed and ill-informed masses have no idea that socialism equates to big government, lack of personal responsibility, elimination of private property, coupled with both the “centralization of the means of production” and of course decision-making...making socialism more than just about running out of other people's money.

And while those pushing for socialism relish in empty promises that socialism will create a classless society where everyone is equal...while remaining clueless that it's equality at the bottom rung of the socioeconomic ladder...a ladder where only a select few will reap the rewards of others hard work...and where in the end only one individual reaches the top rung of said ladder.

Welcome to the morphing of socialism into a dictatorship where the masses worship the very dictator who provides for their meager existence and where God becomes but a distant memory for God has no place in a society of robotic equals who have no concept of “free will.” Better to be taken care of...to have every need met...sort of...than do for oneself. And for those who dare to think outside socialism's box it usually does not end well as can be seen in what happens in countries embracing socialism...countries like Venezuela.

And while socialism's political and media proponents try to market it as “rule by the working people”...a collective working class they claim will eliminate the disparities between the haves and have nots...the fact is that when you strip away all the hoped for socialist ideologies and promises...what remains is but the truth that what was envisioned to be a socialist utopia of equality for all is but rule by those who dare to play and then win the game known as “political tyranny”...a game based upon fear mongering and undeliverable promises. And know that said game is not being played for the betterment of the people but solely to see whose quest for money and power trumps all others. To the victor goes the spoils...to the loser goes enslavement minus the ability to know one has actually been enslaved.

But even when the truths about socialism are stripped away and laid bare for all to see, the scariest thing about socialism as it relates to today's American political scene is that if Democrats play their cards right...if the far left side of the party is successful in taking over the party's hierarchy...socialism might simply be voted in courtesy of the above stated uninformed and misinformed masses...in other words those with their hands out selling their souls simply for socialism's promise of even more “free stuff.” “Political tyranny” won without so much as a single revolutionary shot fired...socialism voted in because we on the right did not know how to successfully fight back against the very folks wishing to do our constitutional republic harm.

And sadly today there are many wishing us harm...including some new to Congress... Democrats all...many willing to sing socialism's supposed praises yet having no idea nor caring about the ramifications of the socialistic monster they're trying to create.

So now let's focus on but two of the loudest callers for socialism to become America's newest societal norm by starting first with Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, the ever so vile muslima who relishes in wearing both her overt anti-Semitism and her hatred of all things President Trump as proud badges of honor. This CAIR operative and jihad condoning nasty piece of work...an outward proponent of socialism who remains blind to socialism's many failures including in Venezuela, a country not that far from home. Venezuela...a country tethering on the brink of collapse...a country replete with ill-conceived economic policies and ever-growing corruption...a sinking ship of a country adrift on a cyclonic socialist sea.

Never mind that Ilhan Omar has foolishly been blaming both our country and president for Venezuela's ongoing political turmoil and economic woes by saying that, “A lot of the policies that we have put in place has kind of helped lead the devastation in Venezuela and we have sort of set the stage for where we are arriving today.” Never mind that she absurdly equates U.S. sanctions with bullying as the means by which she says President Trump hopes to initiate “regime change”...never mind all that for what should be minded as it equates to our country is that Ilhan Omar says socialism is a very good thing and that it's what the Venezuelan people want. Simply, she lies, for the people of Venezuela...people who long for the days when Venezuela was free...are now fighting back in an effort to return Venezuela to the “Jewel of Latin America” that she was before Hugo Chavez turned once democratic Venezuela into a socialist hellhole...the same kind of hellhole Ilhan Omar wants the U.S. to become.

Still refusing to recognize Juan Guaido as Venezuela's duly elected president backed by both the country's constitution and her people, Omar cannot accept as truth that Venezuela's being in the midst of what are now violent anti-government protests coupled with a call to remove socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro from power is simply because socialism is not working for the people. Venezuelans continue to starve under socialism as food rationing, one of socialism's calling cards, has led the average Venezuelan to lose 24lbs. in one year alone with mass starvation now taking hold of the still oil-rich country. And not only do Venezuelans have but limited access to clean drinking water, but 93% of the people simply can no longer afford to buy food, and those who can wait in line for hours to buy what little food is available from the few vendors the government allows to stay in business.

And Ilhan Omar sees no problem with this all too common aspect of socialism...sad isn't it.

Also, Venezuela's prices on almost all goods have risen nine times in the mere eight years since socialist price controls took effect. And with inflation rates now being 400% higher than that of its neighboring Latin American countries, Maduro's socialist government still touts that socialism affords Venezuelans access to free health care. But what he's not saying is what good is free health care when there's an overall 85+% shortage of medications needed to fight and control simple illnesses and diseases as well as give children much needed vaccinations. Also omitted from Maduro's health care discourse is that ordinary antibiotics now cost Venezuelans twice their minimum wage...as in a miserly wage of a mere $6.70 per hour in a country who, thanks to socialism, has an annual inflation rate of over two million percent and whose personal income tax rate now stands at 34%.

And again, this is what Ilhan Omar wants as our country's future.

What Ilhan Omar just doesn't get...or gets but just doesn't care...is that Venezuela is the perfect example of what happens when socialism brings about the centralization and control of both a country's government and its economy. Simply, free enterprise is no longer free and being tied to the government for all one's needs becomes the sadly accepted societal norm. And in Ilhan Omar's case, maybe it's that she thinks a socialistic society will be better suited to help aide in islam's so-wanted takeover of American society...with an islamist one never knows.

And then there's New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez...aka Alexandria Ocasio-Common Core-tez for reasons needing no explaining...whose only difference between her and Ilhan Omar is that Omar's actions and words truly reek of being a traitor while I don't think AOC really hates America as Omar does. I think AOC simply cannot understand all the negative ramifications of embracing socialism's economic and societal paths nor can her guru Bernie Sanders for that matter.

And so the woman who describes herself as a democratic-socialist...whatever that means as it's sort of an oxymoron...a few months ago said of socialism, "So when millennials talk about concepts like democratic socialism, we're not talking about these kinds of 'Red Scare' boogeyman...we're talking about countries and systems that already exist that have already been proven to be successful in the modern world."

So let me give Ms. AOC and those of her ilk a little economics 101 lesson. And while I know this lesson will go over her head she needs to be made aware of the reasons why socialism will not work here in our country before making a bigger fool of herself than she already has.

Let's start with the countries Ms. AOC alludes to as being socialism's success stories...Finland, Canada, and the U.K...all countries with socialized medicine...the very type of health care AOC wants implemented here. Ignoring that socialized medicine has its own set of strict rules, regulations, costs, and horrors...rules such as needing "permission" to have even the most basic of surgery and the government being the decider of when and where life support is to be turned off...see my article A Decision Not Unlike Solomon's for one such story...what we call single-payer health care...as in Medicare for all...sees being overlooked by AOC is the fact that what might work in the individual countries of Europe...countries with populations much less than that of the U.S...will simply not work here for the scope of implementing such change comes at too high a monetary cost.

And why is that? Because while the concept of socialized medicine sounds good on the surface with its advocates saying it would both “cut out the middleman”...as in the insurance companies...while also lowering administrative costs as the government itself would now be in charge, it would not see the monies saved from said cuts providing “universal coverage” for all at a much lower cost. And again why...because those favoring socialized medicine ignore the fact that to implement such coverage on such a massive population scale...a scale where it would cover all Americans equally...would lead to major implementation cost increases which in turn would then lead to an across-the-board tax hike in order to fund said coverage. And who would feel the tax pinch the most...the lower and middle classes of course not to mention that doctors and hospitals would have to accept even less reimbursements for services rendered then they already are.

Simple translation for socialism-loving AOC: whatever monies folks saved under a single-payer system would be eaten up by an increase in their taxes...and that is fact.

But the main reason why socialism won't work here in the U.S. is that socialism is simply abject tyranny with incompetency thrown in for good, or should I say bad, measure. Remember, socialism mandates a government controlled centralized economy with its failures clearly seen in the a fore mentioned Venezuela. Also, when folks are put on welfare...socialism's blood brother of sorts... one tends to lose what's called the “American work ethic”...as well as the drive to see our children monetarily better off than we are. So why bother getting a job when the “freebies and hand-outs” now serve one just as well, if not better, than what one would garner through their own hard work.

And something else AOC and her socialism groupies forget is that while American-style capitalism has not and will not ever result in equal distribution of wealth...it never was meant to do so...folks are always free to aspire to and work towards something better as well as to act in their own best self-interests. And if truth be told equality for all is but a myth for there will always be a pecking order that sees both politicians and their cronies sitting on the top rung of the socioeconomic ladder...equality be damned.

So while socialism will always remain about spending other people's money that's not really what it's all about for absolute control is what socialism needs as it prime calling card in order for it to not only succeed but to last. And without absolute control...power with no questions asked...socialism eventually collapses from within just as we now see happening in Venezuela...just as it's always happened in other countries where true absolute control over the emotions of the populace was never really achieved.

And those like Ihan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez simply do not grasp the reality nor the dangers that absolute control entails and without that reality their vision of socialism is doomed to fail. Remember, throughout history both absolute control and absolute power have always proved fleeting at best...while the power of we American patriots to do what's right for our country has never waned. And that's something those pushing for socialism always, thankfully, seem to forget.

A Decision Not Unlike Solomon's
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

“My gladiator lay down his shield and gained his wings at 02:30...absolutely heartbroken.” - Tom Evans, Alfie Evans father upon his death

Little Alfie Evans has gone 'home' to become one of God's angels, but some say he was sent 'home' before his time. Some even say he was murdered by the British government's state-run National Health Service... socialized medicine at it worst...but the question is was Alfie murdered or was he set free from a horrific illness there is no cure for.

And while some might not like what I'm going to say, only those of us who have had a loved one with an incurable illness...an illness where choices like those Alfie's parents had to make...can even begin to understand the type and scope of decisions that must come into play. And it's from here that I speak from experience...experience no mother or father, son or daughter, should ever have to make.

Little Alfie was not the first many of us prayed and cried for...before him there was Charlie Gard...another baby 'supposedly' mandated to die in a hospital against his parents wishes. And while a quiet reverent dignity was indeed denied both families...for both their baby's passing was turned into a media circus replete with the standard lights, camera, action scenario of not just being a ratings blitz, but a soapbox for the lefts call for even more government intrusion into all our lives, while the religious right said the legal decisions to end both baby's lives were nothing but the work of satan...yet one still has to wonder if there really are any villains or heroes in cases such as these.

And as both babies sadly did pass in the cold sterile surroundings of an impersonal hospital room...sick as no little one should ever be...their parent's battle to keep their children alive had become the stuff of parents v. doctors, judges, and a legal system most here in America rightly see as repulsive. Socialized medicine, some say, equals government death panels come to life and in some, maybe even in many cases that surely is true, but was the British court's ruling to pull both babies plugs on the machines keeping them alive the right thing to do instead of letting the parents make that heart-wrenching decision on their own...a decision that might haunt them for the rest of their lives?

Sadly, and it pains me to say it, it might very well have been for under British law courts are asked to intervene when parents and doctors disagree on the best treatment for their child...treatment many times demanded based upon emotions alone and not based upon what is in the best interest of the child.

And while some claim these legal "purveyors of death"...as some call them...did so solely based upon law instead of upon compassion...based upon a law stating that once a dispute comes before a court over the care of a child...which in both cases it did...the 'Children Act 1989' provides that the welfare of the child is to be the “paramount consideration”...it now becomes a reality some in the public might not want to face...a reality that sometimes the parents might very well not be the best ones to make the decision regarding the welfare of their child...especially when all the facts are not known nor have a right to be in the public domain.

And sometimes it's a decision no parent should ever have to face let alone make...a decision to let their child die. And while that child is of their flesh and blood and should never be a pawn of government bureaucracy... unfortunately at times it comes to just that. And then sometimes in the end the villain to most people's surprise turns maybe not into a hero but into a guide showing the way to setting a pained life free.

So in regards to little Alfie were his parents the best ones to make the right decision...a decision to try and keep their baby alive at all costs...to have experimental treatments done on him knowing the chances of success were slim or dare I say nonexistent...or were the doctors and the law actually trying to ease the pain of having the parents make a decision no parent should ever have to make when they ordered Alfie's life support to be turned off?

After much soul searching and praying with many tears shed that my opinion in such a truly sad case is the right one...at least for me...and while I know that opinion might anger some...I believe in Alfie's case and in Charlie Gard's case as well...that the doctors...who said that prolonging Alfie's life as it was, was both “unkind and inhumane”...did the right thing in saying 'no more' but not for the reasons you think.

Bare with me here...please.

So then why was it the right decision...because the doctors and the British legal system...contrary to what the religious right claim...were not playing God but were instead letting God call Alfie 'home' at the time of His choosing...coming to Him unencumbered by machines, tubes, and wires, and with his loving parents by his side to say their good-byes to his earthly body leaving his memory etched into their hearts forever.

And did it really matter if little Alfie passed in a hospital room or at home...a home he had not seen in almost a year for a hospital room had become home to him...no it did not for the place where one passes is not really important...what is important is that Alfie's suffering was over and that he was now one with God...and free of a sick and pained body that did not serve him well.

Little Alfie Evans...the latest victim some say of British socialized medicine...was born on May 9, 2016, with a progressive degenerative neurological condition referred to as Mitochondrial DNA Depletion Syndrome (MDS)...an embryonic present DNA affliction where “energy” (oxygen and other necessary nutrients) does not get to muscle, kidney, and brain tissue...“energy” necessary to sustain life...the same illness little Charlie Gard was believed to have had.

Fighting off one respiratory infection after another...coming off the ventilator and having to go right back on again...and with seizures causing Alfie to be in a permanent semi-vegetative state...led the doctors at Alder Hey Hospital to say that it was in Alfie's best interest to stop mechanical ventilation...aka life support...and that he be provided with palliative care in order to let him pass at a time when God chose to call him 'home' for the damage to his brain was severe...damaged to such a degree that Alfie had little brain function as his brain had been “eroded away” leaving only water and cerebral spinal fluid where what we refer to as the brain should be.

And as can be seen by the sad photos above and below, Alfie's kidneys were shutting down as well as witnessed by his so swollen legs, arms, trunk, and face as toxemia...as uremic poisoning...set in. The sweet cherub faced little baby of months ago was now long gone.

And knowing this leaves open the question of why did his parents try so hard to keep little Alfie alive when they now knew his death was predestined even before his birth? Seeing his deterioration go from bad to worse well over a year ago with nothing but artificial means keeping him alive...was it really their will to save a child they in their hearts knew could not be saved...no...I believe it was solely their refusal to let him go...the hardest decision any parent would ever have to make.

MDS is almost always fatal in babies and young children, but a few of the 16 known sufferers...it is that rare a condition...have made it into their early teens but with severely limited brain function...basically existing as a shell of a body being kept alive artificially by machines, tubes, and wires with a mind all but blank to the world. And while no can argue that morally it still should have been Alfie's parents decision if that was the life they wanted for their son, ethically the British courts...and later on the European Court of Human Rights...thankfully stepped in and removed the Evans' input from what they knew would have been their son's lingering, painful, and horrific death. But the media terribly misunderstood the intent of the rulings...as they relished in twisting the facts to help fuel worldwide consternation...consternation that even drew the pope into the fray.

But before I go on let it be known that I too am totally opposed to socialized medicine...or what we here in America sometimes refer to as a single-payer system...as I believe with every fiber of my being that neither the government nor the courts should be involved in health care at all...that it should be best left to an individual, their family, and their doctor(s). But I also know that a sovereign nation...in this case Great Britain...has a right to have a health care system of their choosing without the butting in of let's say we across 'the pond'...especially when that health care system is the wishes of its own citizens.

So with that said, there is still something wrong when the law...when the government...has its citizens saying that both entities think themselves God. Would it have hurt them to let little Alfie go home to die...would it have hurt them to let his parents take him to Italy for a treatment that in all probability would not work? No, it would not but there is a caveat with that 'no' for it would have just postponed the inevitable dragging out little Alfie's suffering even more...dragging out the parents desperate hope for a cure that would not come. And while some say miracles do happen...which we all know they do...miracles were not in Alfie's future...not when one is basically both brain dead and encased in a body that simply does not work.

Yet even with Alfie's death his memory still leaves many, especially the religious, with questions that seem to have no answer...questions about medical ethics and who and when does one deem a life “not worth living.” Many Christians...especially Catholics which Alfie's parents were...saw in Alfie's case secularism run amok as they believe all life is worth living, but is it really life when it's just machines keeping someone alive. And is all life truly worth living especially when today's Catholic social teachings add to the discourse that preserving life should be “tempered by an awareness” that life should “not be artificially prolonged” in all cases...in other words God alone should make the decision of when to call someone 'home.'

“In the final analysis, it pertains to the conscience either of the sick person, or of those qualified to speak in the sick person’s name, or of the doctors, to decide, in the light of moral obligations and of the various aspects of the case.” The Catholic Church's Declaration on Euthanasia

And that is what the doctors and the British courts did when they...not unlike King Solomon...weighed the wishes of the parents against the welfare of the child. And as much as it left broken hearts in its wake, I believe, they did the right thing in a case that really had no right or wrong for in the end little Alfie is now with God as God intended him always to be.

Rest in Everlasting Peace little angel...you are finally free.

'Medicare-for-All'...ObamaCare on Steroids
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

Let's play a game of guess who...as in who said, "If we expanded Medicaid [to] everybody. Give everybody a Medicaid card – we would be spending such an astronomical sum of money that, you know, we would bankrupt the nation.” Was it President Trump...Ted Cruz...or Carly Fiorina perhaps?

Nope to none of the above as it was none other than socialist masquerading as a Democratic former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (and you can see and hear him say it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1okS-KNYgmA), and he said it back in 1987 when he was mayor of Baltimore, Maryland. As the king of all flip-floppers, Bernie is now the chief architect and face of the push for universal health care, as in the push to shove a single-payer system that would devastate our nation's health care system down all 'We the People's' throats.

And right now Bernie has 15 uber liberal progressive Democratic co-sponsors for his 'Medicare-for-All' bill, including California Senator Kamala Harris...the first to sign on...as well as Senators Cory Booker, Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren, and Kirsten Gilligan...all 2020 Democratic presidential possibilities. And if by some chance this bill was passed a single-payer system would become the law of the land...something that was always intended what with ObamaCare deliberately designed to fail.

Thankfully, even while Republicans still cannot agree on how to repeal and what to replace ObamaCare with, at least ObamaCare is slowly but rightfully dying on its own. But what Obama could not pull off Bernie just might, and if he is successful in doing so he would have pushed the others aside in laying the groundwork for a 2020 presidential run.

Posing the question of why is our country the “only major country on Earth not to guarantee health care to all people,” when he lays out his case on the floor of the Senate tomorrow...Bernie knows well his 'Medicare-for-All' bill...aka 'BernieCare'...has no chance of passing a Republican controlled House and Senate let alone would it survive a presidential veto. So why is he proposing this...because Bernie Sanders sees this as a way of further fracturing an already split Republican party while at the same time uniting his own party...fracturing one uniting the other in an effort to prevent the 2018 midterms from turning into a Democratic bloodbath.

“Health care must be recognized as a right, not a privilege...every man, woman and child in our country should be able to access the health care they need regardless of their income. The only long-term solution to America’s health care crisis is a single-payer national health care program,” are the words Bernie Sanders keeps spouting to any and all who will listen. Likening his plan to those of the U.K., France, Denmark, Australia, and Canada, Bernie Sanders claims that whether a single-payer system is fully government controlled or a "public/private hybrid," the end result would be that everyone would be covered no matter if they were employed or not and no matter their age.

And how does Bernie propose to finance his plan...with the Democrat's calling card of further taxing the rich of course. Wanting the richest Americans to pay even more in income taxes, even more in capital gains taxes, and even more in estate taxes than they already do, Bernie Sanders also wants to see the funneling of existing health care expenditures going into his plan...a plan he claims would not only save 'We the People' and both large and small businesses $6 trillion over the next decade, but would go a long way into "helping the American people live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives."

On his 'Medicare-for-All' website...which looks good on paper if you will but is devoid of any substance, how to, and details...Bernie claims his plan would promote innovation and entrepreneurship in every sector of the economy as he says it would help start new businesses, allow moms to stay home with their children, and allow those to leave jobs they do not like knowing they would still have health care coverage...have health insurance...for themselves and their families.

Further stating that his plan would both allow employers the freedom to focus on running their businesses instead of spending countless hours figuring out how to provide health insurance for their employees, as well as assuring that working Americans would not have to choose between bargaining for higher wages or better health insurance, Bernie also sees his plan as the ultimate panacea for seniors and people with serious or chronic illnesses. How so...Bernie claims his plan alone would allow them to be able to afford medications necessary to keep them healthy without worry of financial ruin. Under his plan, he says, millions of people will no longer have to choose between health care and other necessities like food, heat and shelter, and will have access to services that may have been out of reach before, like dental and/or long-term care.

Nothing like living in a world of unicorns and fairy dust is there for if Bernie's plan was ever to become law, the amount in taxes needed to finance such a plan that comes replete with up to a $32 trillion price tag over a ten-year period...with an estimated low-end cost of $1.38 trillion per year...would not just see the rich being taxed but would actually tax the middle class even more so while the 'gimme-gimme, you owe me' crowd gets even more freebies than they do now for Bernie Sander's 'Medicare-for-All' plan is nothing but yet another entitlement program...and Medicare is not an entitlement program as working people pay into it their whole working lives. Not only that, but such a plan as Bernie is proposing, if implemented, would actually cede control of a full one-sixth of the American economy to the government.

So knowing those two important facts, why would anyone herald a single-payer health care system...also known as socialized medicine...unless politics alone was the deciding factor in the equation...which unfortunately it is. And as always it simply comes back to votes garnered... give away enough free stuff get votes in return. And vote garnering remains the calling card of the Democrats no matter that their policies have shifted our country in the wrong direction, especially in regards to health care, thanks to years of having to deal with the nightmare that is ObamaCare. And now with Republicans playing games in regards to repealing and replacing it, the only ones continuing to get burned are the American taxpayers who still have to foot the bill for this ongoing nightmare.

And here's something interesting, according to a June 2017 Pew Research Center survey, a whopping 60% of Americans...they probably just surveyed liberal Democrats for this one...said the federal government should be responsible for ensuring health care coverage for all Americans. Amazing isn't it especially since a more recent Gallop poll said 65% of Americans who are not on ObamaCare are happy with the health care coverage they currently have, and are happy with it being employee based and tax deductible.

Gallop also said that only 33% of those polled support a single-payer system and I believe Gallop over liberal leaning Pew Research surveys any day...especially with 'BernieCare'...being a plan based solely upon policies that work to increase even more the power of the federal government's intrusion into our lives at a time when the majority of 'We the People' want the federal government out of our lives. Big Brother is watching you was a hallmark of the Obama years and like with Obama good riddance is the order of the day.

"The path toward single-payer ought to be straightforward, and sinister corporate interests are the only obstacles standing in the way," or so says Bernie Sanders who ignores the fact that his plan would not only infringe upon at first, and then eliminate entirely, people's right to choose a health care plan best suited for them and their family's individual needs, but would also threaten and then eliminate people’s existing coverage...coverage like I said above the majority of Americans are happy with...especially with them still being allowed to keep their own doctors...something under 'Medicare-for-All' they would no longer be allowed to do.

Also, Bernie's plan allows the government to make the choice about paying for some things and not for others, which means that some treatments people really want or need might not be covered in the name of keeping both costs and the 20% out-of-pocket expenses down...which is really just another way of saying the death panels of ObamaCare would remain.

And lets not forget the doctor and hospital end of 'Medicare-for-All' and how a single-payer system affects them both. Remember, the whole point of single-payer is indeed to keep costs for medical treatment down, thus logic dictates that to do so payments to doctors would have to be cut as well, which means the dollar reimbursements to doctors would drastically drop, forcing those doctors who will (rightfully) refuse to accept lower fees to remove themselves from the system. And that in turn translates into patients no longer being able to see the doctor or doctors of their choosing even if they have been long time patients of a doctor who has exited the system. And nowhere in Bernie's plan is there any mention of whether people will be able to get health care outside of the 'Medicare-for-All' system, whether by purchasing supplementary insurance or by paying monies out-of-pocket to the doctors directly.

As for the hospital end...with Medicare some saying already on the road to bankruptcy citing Medicare's latest annual report...a report which states that its main Part A trust fund used for Hospital Insurance will be exhausted in 15 years time...means the feds in turn would have to drastically cut benefits, raise the payroll taxes used to fund it or worse...as in delve further into the federal budget to cover seniors' care...something seniors are truly entitled to after having paid into the system their entire working lives. And this key issue is nowhere addressed in Bernie Sanders 'Medicare-for-All' plan...meaning hospital care and seniors be damned.

And as far as corporate interests are concerned, logic dictates that insurance companies most assuredly want to stay in business and not be forced to close by greedy politicians whose end game remains pandering for votes. And close they would as 'Medicare-for-All' dictates that all persons be covered under its umbrella alone within four-years time, thus effectively phasing out private insurance companies by disallowing employer-based coverage to offer the same benefits as the government. And according to Bernie Sanders, this phasing out is being done to eliminate "improper or fraudulent payments"...something that in reality happens in just 10% of all claims filed.

Talk about a monopoly courtesy of a hostile takeover of one hundred percent of the insurance market, and it is a takeover orchestrated and operated by politics instead of by much needed free-market incentives.

But the bottom line in all this is that thankfully Bernie Sanders' ridiculous 'Medicare-for-All' plan will not become reality for most Republicans rightfully see it as nothing but ObamaCare on steroids...which in fact it is. And with the Republicans still controlling the House and Senate...even with the RINOs presence...it is of paramount importance that a Republican ObamaCare replacement plan...a plan that would allow for among other things a free marketplace, the removing of regulations on the types of plans companies can offer including the return of affordable catastrophic coverage alone, and a plan that allows for keeping tax credits in place for Americans who need assistance...that type of plan must become law before years end as all could change in 2018 if it is the Republicans who take a bloodbath and not the Democrats.

And don't laugh at that one folks for stranger things have indeed happened in the world of politics...especially when the Democrats will sell their souls if it gives them even more government control over all our lives.

Op-ed:
ObamaCare Repeal...the Big Picture Explained
By: Diane Sori and Craig Andresen / Right Side Patriots

Remember “you have to pass the bill, to find out what’s in the bill.” That was the liberal standard before any Republicans could be given a glimpse of ObamaCare, and exactly why not a single Republican in either the House or in the Senate voted in favor of it.

It was also the very reason why some liberals...because they had already seen what was in ObamaCare...had to be 'bribed' by the Obama administration to vote in favor of it...a bit of history that has been all but forgotten in the ObamaCare saga.

Once all 2,777 pages of the bill were passed without a single Republican vote in 2010, ObamaCare became the law and was then bolstered down the road by Chief Justice John Roberts, who was willing to alter the language of the ACA bill to make it the law of the land. But the real question was what were the objectives of ObamaCare? Was it to cover each and every American and provide affordable health care, or was it something else entirely?

To understand the objectives one first must come to terms with the ultimate goal of Obama’s health care legislation, and that goal was a single payer, 100% taxpayer funded health care system which is more widely known as socialized medicine, but to get there, two primary objectives first had to be met.

Number one...render individual, private health insurance obsolete...destroy it by driving carriers out of the market, and then out of business. This would be accomplished in several ways with number one being by forcing the industry to adopt standards of coverage vastly different and vastly unsustainable without government taxpayer subsidies. Once the health insurance industry was forced by government mandate to alter their approach to coverage, and placed under the thumb of the government, one by one they would be forced from the market because they would either not be capable of meeting the increasingly stiff mandates, or because they simply would no longer be able to afford to continue as a viable business entity.

Number two...allow ObamaCare itself to implode...let it wither and die as ObamaCare marketplaces collapse and as carriers of health insurance shutter their doors, and in the process drive up the costs of premiums, deductibles, and prescriptions well beyond what anyone could afford. As more and more people would drop out of the system, or be forced out by the shuttering of carrier after carrier, the pool of insured would grow evermore shallow, forcing costs up higher and higher until, no longer viable, it would simply collapse, leaving Americans desperate for any form of coverage and seeking a health care savior in the form of the United States government.

If the ultimate goal was single payer socialized medicine, and it most certainly was, there could be no better way to force the American people to beg for it than to subsidize both the insurance industry and the insurance consumers by increasing taxes while providing fewer and fewer options until just one single option was left...the single payer option.

ObamaCare began with 26 marketplaces in 2014, and today only seven remain because insurance carrier after insurance carrier have pulled out...actually being forced out by design...and now in five states...Alabama, Alaska, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wyoming...there will only be one lone insurance company offering plans through the ObamaCare health insurance exchange in 2017. Aetna is out, UnitedHealth is out, and by 2018, Humana, the nation’s largest health insurance company, will have left ObamaCare.

Make no mistake, ObamaCare is currently on life-support and liberals, as per their ultimate goal, have seen to it that there would be a ‘do not resuscitate’ order hanging over the whole sordid mess.

There was also one other very important component build into ObamaCare by the liberals who have been craving a socialist health care system since the days of HillaryCare...the fact that once mandated to alter their coverage plans and become beholding to the government rather than to private individuals should the rug be pulled out from beneath it all...as in a total repeal by those directly opposed to any sort of socialized medicine...the rug would effectively be pulled from beneath the American people at the same time.

There is no on and off switch to health insurance. If a simple and total repeal were to be executed now, with so few insurers available, and their former plans mandated now out of existence, the effect would be devastating... leaving untold millions without health insurance and with no place to turn other than the ultimate liberal goal of a full-on socialized system. And don’t take our word for it, Cory Uccelo, a senior fellow at the American Academy of Actuaries recently wrote, "Insurers are in a situation right now where they're trying to determine whether or not they're going to participate in 2018. And part of that depends on whether, in the long run, it makes sense for them to participate in the market. And that long run depends on what's going to happen, not just in 2018, but in the years after 2018."

The American Academy of Actuaries has issued a dire warning in that “a repeal of the ACA without replacing it would be dangerous to the long-term health of the insurance market."

While a full and immediate repeal of ObamCare is exactly what the Freedom Caucus, and many Conservatives want...a 'wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am' approach, they need to understand that such an approach, such instant gratification, carries with it the law of unintended consequences...no health insurance for almost everybody and no place to turn.

The insurance industry, or what is left of it, needs to know that there is a significant plan in place regarding a transition away from what they have been mandated into by ObamaCare, and back into a non-governmental approach before they upset their apple cart again. And if such a plan is not in place, a plan they cannot feel positive enough about, many, if not most all, will simply quit selling individual health insurance plans altogether. Leaving even the one redeeming feature of ObamaCare in place...the coverage of pre-existing conditions...while defunding all the rest and doing away with the mandate...as a full repeal would do...not only would leave vast numbers of Americans with no insurance, it would render the coverage of those pre-existing conditions in grave danger because young, healthy people would have no incentive to purchase health insurance at all.

In other words, a narrow focus says repeal and nothing less, but stepping back to see the big picture unmasks the true, insipid nature of what liberals said had to be passed before anyone could see what was in it.

And so while many are still furious that ObamaCare was not repealed in full as President Trump had promised while campaigning, the fact is that it simply could not be as it involves the word ‘reconciliation’ but not how most think.

How so...with most folks still believing that ObamaCare was passed via budget reconciliation...which is simply a concurrent resolution passed by both the House and the Senate but is not presented to the president and does not have the force of law even though it ‘sets out’ the congressional budget...they now think ObamaCare could easily be repealed the same way,. But the fact is that it cannot for unbeknownst to most ObamaCare was not passed via reconciliation, because as per the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, reconciliation cannot be subject to a filibuster. And with reconciliation also being limited to budget changes is why this procedure was not used to pass ObamaCare as the bill had non-budgetary regulations in it as well.

And another reason why reconciliation cannot be used to repeal ObamaCare in one fell swoop is because ObamaCare is actually a bill in two different parts.

Two parts...as in the ‘Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’ (ACA) and the ‘Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act’ amendment. One was an actual reconciliation bill and one was not. The ACA part of ObamaCare was passed via a normal bill that Republicans did not have the numbers to filibuster. And with House Democrats thinking they could negotiate changes in a House/Senate conference before passing a final bill, they knew that any bill that differed from the Senate bill would have to again pass the Senate over another Republican filibuster, so most House Democrats agreed to pass the Senate bill on condition that it be amended by a subsequent bill...as in the ‘Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act’...which they knew could pass via reconciliation.

Two bills rolled up into one giant monstrosity known as ObamaCare...two bills melded together inseparable by reconciliation or in being repealed in one fell swoop...and Obama knew it as he planned it that way.

Now for a few other key facts as to why we are in the situation we find ourselves in today...remember that ObamaCare was passed simply because at the time of the 111th Congress, Democrats had the 60 votes needed in the Senate to pass it without a filibuster. And how so...because Democrat Al Franken unseated sitting Republican Senator Norm Coleman, and because in April 2009 turncoat Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter switched his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat. Now remember that on December 23, 2009, the Senate voted to end debate on the bill, and that the very next day, which was Christmas Eve and with some Senators having already gone home for the holidays, the Senate passed the bill in a strict party line vote with every Republican voting ‘no.’

Numbers...it is all about numbers...always has been...always will be...and with Democrats having the needed Senate numbers back then the bill then went to the House.

However, in January, after the death of Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, the Democrats lost their filibuster proof majority when in a special election to fill Kennedy’s seat, Republican Scott Brown won over his Democrat opponent. And when that was coupled with the fact that the House and Senate had ‘supposedly’ settled most of their differences before the bill went to the Senate, which then lead to the Senate bill being passed with no changes. And no changes meant no filibuster would be allowed before the final vote and with the House now able to pass a second bill via the reconciliation process. And in doing it this way the reconciliation bill...albeit being restricted to tax, spending, and debt limit legislation by Senate rules...made it filibuster proof.

And on March 21, 2010 ObamaCare was passed by the House without any amendments attached to it because they could not filibuster anything, and then on March 23rd Obama’s infamous pen signed ObamaCare into law.

Now some will ask how in 2015 did the ‘supposed’ repeal bill HR 3762 get passed the Democrats without a filibuster if it had to be held to the rules regarding reconciliations and then make it all the way to Obama’s desk, where he vetoed it of course. Simply, it did so in how it was worded...as in “To provide for reconciliation pursuant to section 2002 of the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2016,” and much to the chagrin of many nowhere did it ask for a repeal of ObamaCare. Beginning with the words that the “Affordable Care Act” is “amended” proves that Republicans back then knew it could not be repealed by either reconciliation or really by any means.

However, a duplicate but amended bill of the 2015 bill still exists and was introduced by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan (R) on March 8th. but is sitting inactive in committee in Congress instead of being voted on. But according to some, like Texas Senator Ted Cruz, even that bill, again as it is currently worded, does not go far enough, and he believes that any new bill should include “excellent ideas” like “allow[ing] consumers to purchase insurance across state lines,” ensuring the ability to buy “low-cost catastrophic insurance on a nationwide market,” the use of health savings accounts, and to make said insurance “portable”...meaning you can take it with you if you move or switch jobs. And Senator Cruz believes this would have the effect of increasing competition and lowering costs...which it would...something this Right Side Patriot...Diane Sori...has been saying for years...in fact all the way back to when ObamaCare was first proposed...even before the very first call for repeal happened just one day after ObamaCare became the law of the land.

What I have said since day one was keep the government out of health care in full as the 'actuals’ of health care...meaning the diagnosis and treatment of any illness found...should be between a patient and their physician alone and should not under any conditions involve decisions by D.C. bureaucrats. But I also said that while there will always be bureaucracy involved to some degree as to what and how coverage is adjudicated, a simple 4-step plan is all that is needed...and it is needed only for those who want health insurance for health insurance must always remain an individual choice never a mandate.

First, a cap on how high premiums can go is a must as many were happy with their insurance plans but rightfully very unhappy with the ever escalating yearly premium increases. A second must is the allowing of policies to be both bought and to cross state lines...as in portability...for that in and of itself allows for competition and lowering cost, and should be coupled with the discontinuing of premiums being taxed. Next, pre-existing conditions must always be covered with but a few exceptions no matter which company becomes the new insurer. And lastly, something even Senator Cruz did not address...our veterans must be allowed to receive treatment from the hospital and doctor of their not the government's choosing.

A simple 4-step plan...with tweaks and amending allowed of course. And one amendment I’d like to add is that no benefits or coverage whatsoever be given to illegals as they are criminals in the very way they came here...as in breaking our immigration laws. But even with that one addition the fact remains that sometimes simplicity is all that is needed to fix what seems to be insurmountable odds.

But still the blame game remains for the Republicans new health care bill failing, but we feel that while some are trying to place blame on Chief of Staff Reince Priebus...who was in charge of coordinating an initial health care plan together with Speaker Paul Ryan...who himself is being forced to shoulder most of the blame even though he tried his best to work with what he had especially since he knew that ObamaCare could not be repealed per se...nor should blame be placed on Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.

So who is to blame if not these men...we feel blame falls squarely on the shoulders of uber far right Freedom Caucus who set out as obstructionists and who succeeded in being just that. Instead of assuming a much needed compromising attitude than it (rightfully) had under the Obama administration, Freedom Caucus saw Republicans as the enemy even while they too knew that ObamaCare could not be repealed in one simple step.

And how did they do that...Freedom Caucus made so many demands that forced the bill so far to the right that neither moderate Conservatives nor mainstream Republicans could fully support it. In fact, Texas Rep. Tim Poe (R) was so disgusted with them that he quit Freedom Caucus saying they and they alone are to blame for the failure of the American Health Care Act. Saying that no matter what changes were made to placate them...and know there were many...Freedom Caucus would come back wanting more even after telling President Trump they were done. Nice huh...

But know that the Freedom Caucus’ tactics are echoed by caucuses on both sides of the aisle, simply because caucuses have their own agenda. And with a caucus if you do not agree with their way of how they want something done; if you do not agree with the timing of when they want that something done; and especially if you do not agree with what should be in the bill they want passed; they will try to block any given bill even if it's for the betterment of 'We the People.' Legislators need to be able to vote on their own...to do the job they were elected to do... they do not need to be swayed or told how to vote by caucuses.

And now Freedom Caucus is rumored to be lining up to tell President Trump how they want tax reform done...they need to butt out or just like with the American Health Care Act, they will be the cause of much needed tax reform failing as well.

Remember too, that along with being an abysmal way to provide health insurance coverage ObamaCare is also woven into our tax code, as it is the single largest tax increase in American history. A simple, knee-jerk repeal of ObamaCare leaves the parasite in the tax code and until ObamaCare is dealt with, as it must be...in steps...there can be no meaningful tax reform.

Gordon Gray, a former Senate budget staffer and now the Director of Fiscal Policy at the center-right American Action Forum, makes this dire prediction...with the three-part ObamaCare repeal plan not going through, “lawmakers would have to offset them (ObamaCare tax code repeals) primarily with other tax increases or general revenue raisers, not with spending cuts as they could if the measures were included in ObamaCare repeal,” and that, economists promise, will have a bad ripple effect on the rest of President Trump’s economic growth plans for years to come, as well as add at least an additional one trillion dollars to the deficit over the next ten years. Add to that, this dire situation...if President Trump cannot get enough of his own party to buy into a lesser tax reform package with fewer spending cuts than promised, because of the failure of the ObamaCare repeal plan, the Freedom Caucus will have managed to saddle America with both Obama’s socialist health care system and his stagnant economy for the foreseeable future.

Nobody wants ObamaCare gone more than we do, but those folks solely focused on the narrow vision of repeal now and nothing less will be acceptable, simply are not seeing the big picture. That sort of instant gratification will lead directly to the law of unintended consequences and whatever is left in its wake will be an even bigger disaster than ObamaCare itself.

Because of the way ObamaCare was enacted patience is now the key in allowing the free market of the insurance industry to realign in a manner that will both benefit the consumer and the economy as a whole.

But, if you like your ObamaCare, you can keep your ObamaCare...and all that goes with it including the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood by just standing there and screaming 'repeal now, repeal now,' until you are as blue in the face as the liberals who are licking their collective chops over the impending collapse that will leave far too many Americans crying for the government to save them.

It is akin to driving 100 miles per hour down a road towards a bridge that has been collapsing for years, while demanding that the bridge be removed at once without putting anything in its place once it is gone. What are you going to do when you get to where the bridge used to be?

Remember...it is not the long fall, at 100 miles per hour, that will kill you...it is the sudden stop at the bottom that will get you every time.
