Economics + War = A Maybe Midterm Loss...Part Two
By Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor
This opinion piece is my opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.or google.com

In last week's article, “Economics + War = A Maybe Midterm Loss...Part One”... I wrote as to why, in my opinion, we Republicans might well lose both the House and the Senate come November's midterm election by focusing on the economic perspective. Now here, in Part Two, the focus is on President Trump's, what I believe to be, mishandling of the still ongoing war with Iran...a war that has become highly unpopular and polarizing here at home, and even more so as the November midterms draw near.

So let's begin with the cardinal rule that Trump has broken, as in the U.S. does not...I repeat not...negotiate with terrorists. And yes, Barack Obama did break that rule with his infamous “5-for-1” Taliban deal...as in five top Taliban operatives being released in exchange for U.S. traitor Bowe Bergdahl's release...which saw many of us chastising Obama's actions en-mass, and rightly so. But when now President Trump outwardly strives and continues to strive to make “deals” with Iran's terrorist regime...as in the world's leading “State Sponsor of Terrorism,” the silence from way too many Republicans remains quite deafening.

And to make matters worse, when some of us do call Trump out for dealing and negotiating with terrorists... which includes the still ongoing ultra secretive behind closed doors negotiating aspect...along with the fact that we have yet to actually win this war...wars being fought do need both an actual winner and a loser...we who do so are then deemed by Trump loyalists to be traitors to the president and to the party because we, according to our naysayers, suffer from what they deem to be “Trump Derangement Syndrome” or “TDS” as it's more commonly known, and it's no matter that most of us voted for Trump three times, and still do support many of his domestic policies, but dare disagree with him on anything, well you know the rest.

So here I must say that I see we dissenters as being true “American patriots” for we know that one's ultimate loyalty should not be to one man or to a party, but to the United States Constitution...the very document that the shadow of Trump hovers over for both right and wrong reasons depending on whose side of the political discourse one is on.

And this very aspect in relation to what is deemed to be misplaced loyalty by some, as well as it having divided the Republican Party, has become not just the second (second only to the economy itself) “albatross” dangling from what could be a Republican midterm loss, but it is something Trump cannot simply just walk away from.

Why so? Think of it this way, as defined by these seven proven to be facts.

Fact One: Besides Trump wanting to make deals with terrorists, he also set an unrealistic time frame as to when this war will end... six weeks tops he said.

Fact Two: Right from the beginning President Trump made unfortunate what are strategic miscalculations regarding Iran's ability to fight back, which included his not taking into account Iran's regional proxy army/drone retaliations against Iran's own Arab neighbors, as well as his telling our ally Israel what they can and cannot do in regards to this war, as in his wanting a diplomatic solution to end the war vs. Israel's wanting to finish the war last summer when we truly were in control of the discourse.

Fact Three: the remnants of what's left of the regime... as in the IRGC...still does remain in control of Iran, and continues to execute jailed “Freedom Fighters” by the day, and they show no sign of backing away from battle anytime soon, after all their religion simply will not allow them to do so.

Fact Four: Trump, to date, still has not yet made any serious public statement regarding Iran's bio-weapons program...the very program I have been calling out since this war began for these are Iran's “last stand” weapons of choice...weapons that the regime would surely use either against Israel, our military personnel stationed at bases in the region, or if desperate enough against the Iranian people themselves.

Fact FIVE: And most important of all is our original reason for going to war with Iran, as in to permanently stop any and all of Iran's nuclear ambitions... the very thing we have yet to accomplish for Iran has agreed to nothing nuclear wise...no agreements has been made let alone their signature appearing anywhere on the dotted line.

Fact Six: And dare we not forget how the Strait of Hormuz did turn this war into a war that many now deem to be but a war for “control over oil;” and how that one aspect does affect not only the global market, but the price at the pump here in our own country as well. And then there's the fact...whether some like it or not...that this war has to some degree actually depleted or at least has run down the numbers of certain of our important  military stocks...military stocks such as U.S. Patriot Missiles, components of our THAAD anti-missile defense system, and our all important Tomahawk Missile inventories, to name but three.

Fact Seven: Also something very telling that must not be forgotten is that while President Trump has again raised troop presence in the Middle East...a good thing as it increases our show of strength...yet he still keeps the all important so-called “boots” locked up on battleships and aircraft carriers instead of allowing them to do the job they were expertly trained for and are willing to do...as in to outright win this war and not be but “hands tied behind their backs” window dressing bystanders.

And here it is important to remember that that actual strategy planning itself...whether it be economic or a military/war type strategy...is most assuredly a multi-tiered endeavor...but that whatever strategy is agreed upon said strategy's implementation...whether it be war time or economic strategy...is actually initiated solely by the president, no matter if he decides to listen to or not listen to what his advisors or experts tell or suggest him to do or not do.

So here let me say that while I personally do still agree with President Trump's original reasons for going to war with Iran, I still do not support his actual handling of the war to date as its components of non-tangible and unrealistic solutions continues to weigh heavy on the minds of many voters, and could well be being a contributing factor in the Republicans possibly losing the midterm election. Why so...because the midterms are actually a referendum on how the sitting president and his party are doing...as in have promises made to “We the People” actually been kept or not.

And sadly, for this president who promised us “no new wars” on his watch while campaigning in 2024, that does not sit well now for the man or his (and my) party, especially when it's coupled with the issues I discussed in “Part One” of this article...including Trump's what is tariff fiasco. And here might I add the fact that while job numbers have increased as have wages...good things indeed...wages themselves have not been able to keep up with inflation which is not a good thing, meaning one cancels out the other, something no one wants to see happen around midterm time.

So to sum it all up, and to prove that 2 +2 in the political realm can still or at least should = 4...the fact remains that a midterm loss for Republicans is thankfully not yet guaranteed, but unfortunately nor is a midterm win. But maybe the odds can be shifted back in the Republicans favor if President Trump were to tell the voters that he's now putting his ego aside so that what are his true economic and foreign policy successes (like the Abraham Accords) can finally shine though on their own, and also that this now unpopular war with Iran is guaranteed to soon be coming to an end and with a U.S. “written in stone” victory.

A hard sell for sure but it can be done, and maybe this midterm election can be the turning point to where we on both sides of the political aisle finally realize that we ourselves, courtesy of in-party fighting, are actually helping to destroy our beloved America from within. So maybe it's time that both the uber far left and the uber far right rhetoric in each party needs to be toned down or better yet ditched completely, for both the far left and the far right are actually one and the same...unyielding, deliberately divisive, with hatred alone being their driving factor...solutions to problems be damned.

So maybe come November 3rd we Republicans and Democrats together as Americans can finally understand that adopting some Reagan-style bipartisanship can actually be what saves our country from ultimately imploding from within, after all nothing else has. Case closed.

The thought below is my {Diane Sori) thought alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.or google.com

[[[ Interesting developments over the weekend as Trump not only confirmed his IRGC back channels, but now he has threatened to (and I quote) "bomb the s***' out of Oman if it 'gets in the way" regarding his control of Hormuz.

So Trump is now threatening to expand this war over a body of water that technically he nor we have any legal right to control, all while Iranian "freedom fighters" continue to get executed by the day.

Are we looking at another Vietnam or Afghanistan...could be...or maybe it's time for both Sec. of Defense Pete Hegseth and Sec. of State Marco Rubio to tell Trump to SHUT HIS DAMN MOUTH AND KEEP IT SHUT!!! ]]]

Iran...Vietnam Revisited...Maybe, Maybe Not
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor
This opinion piece is my opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.or google.com

...Simply, once Iran's nuclear facilities were left being but deep craters in the sand; once the head of the snake that is the terrorist regime was removed from its body; the fact is that not only did freedom for the Iranian people get knocked down a peg or two on Trump's
“to do list,” but we and they saw their plight actually being replaced by what turned this war into Iran vs. the U.S. for control of the oil shipping corridor know as the Strait of Hormuz.

And here might I add that this, for the most part, unwanted war has a consequence few ever wanted to see in that not only has Iran not yet lost this war, but that we have not won said war either.

A very sad commentary on the war itself in that “We the People” were originally told by our president that the war would last but four to five weeks...a “short term excursion” he said...and yet this what still is a justifiable war is now actually expanding to one degree or another throughout countries in the Middle East. A time frame promised yet a time frame far from being adhered to no matter that Israel...that Netanyahu...wanted to finish this war...as in get the job done...last summer, but Trump emphatically told Israel “no,” that he wanted to give diplomacy a chance first, no matter his originally saying that Iran must “unconditionally surrender.”...Read entire article here.

Iran...Vietnam Revisited...Maybe, Maybe Not
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor
This opinion piece is my opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.or google.com

Last summer when our “Operation Epic Fury” joined together with Israel's “Operation Roaring Lion” to successfully take out Iran's nuclear facilities we basked in the glory of an operation well done. And so too did the people of Iran...both the freedom fighters and protesters...who saw this as a long awaited sign that their decades long nightmare courtesy of an islamic regime run amok would soon be coming to an end, and that soon freedom coupled with free and fair elections would be returning to Iran in a relatively short period of time.

And so they patiently waited and watched as Israel “took out” most of the top tier of Iran's terrorist driven regime one-by-one until little was left of their tormentors, just the son of the now finally buried Ayatollah Khomeini...the son who still has yet to be physically seen...a man likely more dead than alive whose persona might well just be the face of the IRGC in disguise.

But sadly, what the Iranian people saw as last summer's victories being a true harbinger of freedom and peace has yet to be seen even after they had literally begged President Trump for help with Trump telling them that, “help is on the way.” But to this day, as I write this, said help, except for the bombs that go “boom,” has yet to arrive, now leading a growing number of folks to ask the question, “How did last summer's victories turn into the mess we now seem to be mired down in?”

Simply, once Iran's nuclear facilities were left being but deep craters in the sand; once the head of the snake that is the terrorist regime was removed from its body; the fact is that not only did freedom for the Iranian people get knocked down a peg or two on Trump's “to do list,” but we and they saw their plight actually being replaced by what turned this war into Iran vs. the U.S. for control of the oil shipping corridor know as the Strait of Hormuz.

A time frame promised yet a time frame far from being adhered to no matter that Israel...that Netanyahu...wanted to finish this war...as in get the job done...last summer, but Trump emphatically told Israel “no,” that he wanted to give diplomacy a chance first, no matter his originally saying that Iran must “unconditionally surrender.”

And here was Trump's first big mistake for in his saying “no” to Israel he either forgot, simply ignored, or was misinformed to the fact that wars must be either won or lost...there is no middle ground...and that diplomatic attempts at making deals with the enemy only prolongs a war even longer than it had to be. And such is indeed the case with Iran for not only did President Trump play the diplomacy game with avowed terrorists...a cardinal rule he so foolishly broke...but he actually gave these terrorists “extension after extension” even as they did laughingly cross his numerous “red lines” given...“red lines” they knew Trump never really had the courage to follow up on what with with “extensions” being seen by the enemy as a form of “capitulation”... “capitulation” unseen since the days of the highly unpopular Vietnam War.

And so in this still ongoing war with Iran, to put it in quite simplistic terms, we are right now in a stalemate of sorts with Iran for while we still see Trump...even after he ordered the bombings of Iran to continue in both scope and intensity after the recent Iranian caused deaths of three American service members stationed in Jordan and one in Iraq...not having ceased in his desire for a deal to be made to end this war...which again draws parallels to the last ditch attempts made to end the above stated Vietnam War back in the 1970's.

How so...because just like in Vietnam, Iran continues to militarily be able to fight back no matter what we throw at them or for how long.

Right from day one Trump misread the enemy...as in the islamic regime...just like we did with Vietnam back in the 1960's and '70's. How so...because in both wars we truly expected a very quick and easy “asymmetric” military victory. We thought we could “outgun” them, if you will, but instead the enemy's armies prevailed, and we ending up having to leave...to withdraw from Vietnam...in what was truly defeat in 1975. And now in Iran, and much to our surprise, we seem to have underestimated the sum total of their military equipment, hence Iran's ability to not just fight back, but to escalate the scope of the war itself.

And while the Iran war is not an actual protracted war of attrition per se...a war where victory is achieved solely by outlasting one's enemy as did happen in Vietnam with we being the enemy...we now as did Johnson and Nixon back then...never expected to be fighting against an enemy so dedicated to their cause...in Iran's case to an islamic ideology and mindset...that they were then just as Iran is now willing to give up everything if need be. And this includes down to the last man, woman, and child forfeiting their lives if need be...better that than to surrender or agree to make a deal just to be able to “save face” in the eyes of a now war weary world.

So here the question becomes two-fold, first can we prevent this war with Iran from turning into Vietnam revisited; and second can we see the war's end before this November's midterm elections or at least before the all-important 2028 presidential election?

To answer both parts of that question requires a five step answer, because we cannot allow Iran to claim any sort of victory by still being able to militarily cause havoc to Israel or its U.S. aligned Arab neighbors.

First: In my opinion, President Trump needs to publicly state that regime change is an absolute must along with the total dismantling of the IRGC, for without either action being taken we might find ourselves revisiting Iran sometime in the very near future.

Second: I believe the only way to prevent this war from becoming another Vietnam both logistically and time wise is by us securing a total, complete, and unquestionable military victory over Iran. We must no longer respond to Iran's still continuing military actions by just intensifying of our bombing raids, because while we are busy focusing on bombing, Iran is busy planning their next tactical move. And this matters because while Iran just might be buying time in an effort to take our focus off what are now their remaining military vulnerabilities, it could just as well be a “back channel” timed maneuver to secure more weapons through negotiations with countries that don't like us very much. And here I do not mean Russia or China, but Pakistan and North Korea.

Third: A conclusive end-game time frame must be put into place for us to be leaving Iran as the victor, because the last thing we want is another long drawn out war...read Vietnam and Afghanistan here...or to be deemed “military occupiers.”

Fourth: I strongly believe that we cannot and must not allow Iran to win the always ongoing PR war simply by their “winning by not actually surrendering.” A formal surrender is a must for to allow Iran to bypass that formality shows great weakness on our part...“capitulating” to the enemy even if it's just so that the enemy can garner some semblance of “saving face.” The optics of that on the world stage would for us be absolutely humiliating, as well as being a slap in the face to our military.

Fifth: I seriously doubt we will see the war with Iran being over before the midterm elections being less than four months away. Logistics and the war now extending into Iran's neighboring Gulf States has seen to that as it helps to bolster Iran's image of standing strong against the U.S. And as far as 2028 is concerned as long as JD Vance continues on in his defaming of Israel, as long as President Trump keeps spouting the words “ negotiation” or “deal,” we just might see not only two elections lost but Vietnam revisited. Case closed.

An Important Read

This is a letter from a US army major (retired) who knows well the situation in Iran, his name is Major Ed Coet.

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT TRUMP
SUBJECT: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION PRESIDENT TRUMP!!

Dear Mr President,

We 100% MAGA patriots and longtime “Pro-Trump” supporters are more than just a little bit miffed visa-vie your current Iran policy. We are NOT upset about your attacking Iran so let’s be clear about that. You did the right thing. History will show you did the needed thing as well. We supported and continue to support your attack on Iran for all the reasons that you gave. You saved us and the world from a potential nuclear holocaust. For that we should all be forever grateful. What is upsetting us is your persistent never ending misleading us on the war after the first few weeks since the initial attack. So much so that we have to now wonder if you are deliberately lying to us and if so, why?

First you told us that the war would be over in a few weeks, and we believed you. Then you told us it would be over in a few more weeks, then in another month, and we believed you. Then it was a few more weeks and again we believed you. Then you negotiated an extremely fragile “ceasefire” and then you extended that cease fire twice to achieve deals that you convinced us were about to be achieved but never were. All the while each ceasefire was repeatedly violated by Iran.

Unresolved Issues x Three
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor
The article posted here is the authors opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.com or Google

As I write this, three important issues remain on the table, one whose resolution is yet to unfold; one rife with emotions, old hatreds, and untruths; and the last one hopefully in the process of being resolved.

Issue One: “The latest anti-Iran sedition was different in that the US president personally became involved.” So said Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, adding that “actors” linked to the United States and Israel were responsible for killing “several thousand” Iranians during the past few weeks of anti-government protests.

And so the man who issued his fourth death threat against President Trump has now started referring to Trump as a “criminal,” because Trump told the protesters...whom Khamenei calls “terrorists and armed rioters”...to physically take over state institutions. Calling their actions “sedition”...what Khamenei did was “absolve” his and the Revolutionary Guard's role in the massacre of what could, by some accounts, be upwards of 12,000 protesters and non-protesters alike.

And while the killing of protesters has supposedly stopped...for now anyway
...the problems that led to the protests still remain, as in Iran's economy tanking; soaring inflation levels unseen before; the “rial's” (Iran's main currency) collapsing; workers on strike coupled with demonstrations against what they call “systemic mismanagement and government corruption;” plus a lack of political and personal freedoms. And when melded together it appears that what the Iranian people want is full regime change but the question is, will it happen on its own or only with U.S. intervention.

Personally, I've always believed that Iran's people must rise up from within... like our forefathers did in regards to British crown rule some 250 years ago. And while we have witnessed an Iranian “populist” uprising, the problem is that not enough people joined in to successfully remove the current oppressive and murderous regime.

Remember, history has shown that freedom tends to belong to the strong...to those who put their lives on the line, and to those who die in the name of freedom...while the masses sit back and wait to garner the fruits of what is usually the freedom fighters bloody labor.

And history has also shown that a dictatorial regime often does truly appear to be...in regards to their public persona...at their strongest, most powerful, and most controlling right before being overthrown. And such a fall could in time happen in Iran, but logically something must happen first in order to successfully secure what is lasting regime change and one's personal freedom.

So what exactly must happen? Simply, the Revolutionary Guard (the IRGC) must turn their backs on Khamenei...like the Russian Bolshevik's did in 1917 against the Czar...for I believe there is no other way that the Iranian people acting solely on their own can secure a lasting win without some semblance of Iran's military...hence its military power...being on their side. I do believe President Trump likely knows this as well, but has yet to say it publicly.

Why so...because Trump knows that a revolution's success works best when it not only comes from within, but when the “game plan” is not publicly divulged until said plan is well underway...if even then.

So what exactly is the “game plan” for Iran and what can Trump do about it? It's uncertain, and probably unlikely, that the sum of the IRGC turns on Khamenei, but some Middle East so-called “experts” believe that a “succession crisis” is inevitable due to Khamanei's age and health issues which does seem to be a possibility, However, said possibility comes replete with problems of its own, as certain top tier Iranian military leaders could themselves take over and continue Khamenei's hard line regime, or so could those we would not normally expect, like the Kurds, which could see Iran's future being tenuous at best.

But one thing I do know is that if the Iranian people do secure their freedom, whether with Trump's help or on their own, the end of Iran's terrorist driven, theocratic dictatorship will see the entirety of the Middle East start falling into place for like in dominoes when one tile falls others soon follow. But what I hope is that our likely intervention does not come too late, for if it does not only will the Iranian people suffer tenfold, but Iran will become President Trump's Tiananmen Square.

Issue Two: Last week while in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum, President Trump presented his “Board of Peace” charter that is bringing “peace in the Middle East.” Saying that the Gaza war is now “down to little fires,” this plan is basically his 20-point plan for Gaza on steroids as the charter does not appear to limit its role to the Middle East alone.

Now seeing 50+* world leaders having received invites to join the “Board of Peace” ...including Vladimir Putin...with over 35 already having signed on, we find our NATO allies France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Slovenia, and Canada declining, with Trump rescinding Canada's invite. And while some signers do question the board's “three-tier governing structure,” where Trump and pro-Israel officials sit at the top, others question why the Palestinians have little say in deciding Gaza's future governance. I say that's a good decision on Trump's part for not one Palestinian leader has yet condemned nor apologize for Hamas' actions of October 7th. Remember the old adage, “If you don't condemn you condone,” those words fit these folks to a tee.

So what exactly will the “Board of Peace” do? Right now said board will be a transitional administration for Gaza's redevelopment until 2027, and is tasked with overseeing reconstruction, humanitarian aid, and being an international stabilizing force for the region, while at the same time striving for broader global conflict resolution...sort of doing the job the U.N. refuses to do. And this has me believing that if the “Board of Peace” is successful that its ultimate goal is to either work side-by-side with the U.N. or possibly even replace the very organization that has truly become derelict in its duties.

Now as for the key to the board's success, we see the“Founding Executive Board of Peace” being rightfully chaired by President Trump, who alone retains full veto and purse string power, as well as having the sole authority to remove members, set the agenda, and override decisions.

The other Executive Board members who hold voting rights are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio...one of the most pro-Israel officials in Trump's administration as is fellow board member U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. Then there's staunch Israel supporter Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and one of the driving forces behind the “Abraham Accords,” as well as pro-Israel businessman Marc Rowan, co-founder of Apollo Global Management, one of the world’s largest investment firms; Ajay Banga currently the World Bank's president; former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a staunch supporter of both Israel and the “War on Terror;” and Robert Gabriel Jr., a deputy national security adviser in Trump's administration.

This no nonsense executive board is surely needed what with Turkey, Jordan, and Qatar, having signed onto the
“Board of Peace.” And thus this question,”Why did Israel-hating Turkey, Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood supporting “kinglet,” and Hamas' sanctuary Qatar even receive invites to join the board? And the only answer that makes any sense has to do with money as those wealthy nations wanting permanent board seats must pay $1 billion for said seat, with those monies being used for Gaza's reconstruction. And with none of the three having yet to become permanent members, one has to wonder why they signed on, for I do not believe peace is their objective...trying to derail the plan's goal seems more likely to me. Best the board keep an eye on these three is all I have to say.

So what was Israel's response to the plan after having originally criticized the inclusion of Turkey and Qatar? Israel, as expected, did agree to join the “Board of Peace” no matter that Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials felt that parts of said plan were contrary to Israeli policy, but it was made clear that at no time was not participating ever an option. Why so...because for Israel, who truly wants lasting peace, to do otherwise would find certain foxes guarding its hen house so to speak.

And while I hoped that neither Turkey nor Qatar would be allowed to hold any positions on the “Peace Board,” I still hope that Trump does not allow either nation's troops to be on the ground for neither can be trusted to follow through on Gaza's disarmament plan. Why so... because both nations gave “safe harbor” to Hamas officials before and after October 7th and still do, thus proving with whom their true loyalties lie.

But the bottom line for me is this...if Trump's “Peace Plan” is not successful a failure would see us bearing witness to not just a continuation of regional instability and conflict, but a renewal of fighting where Israel rightfully holds nothing back. This land belongs to Israel and the Jewish people, and it's time the world understands that as fact, after all the Palestinians...who are at the crux of this matter...do have and have always had a homeland, it's called Jordan, and that's where they belong, “Peace Plan” or not.

Issue Three: This issue can be sunned up in one word: Greenland, the island nation President Trump has long been trying to acquire and for all the right reasons yet, in my opinion, he was using all the wrong tactics to accomplish that goal. But that has now been remedied as his latest tactic regarding tariffs being imposed on any European country...including Greenland's owner Denmark...who voiced opposition to his doing so has now been removed from the discourse. And why so...because last Wednesday at Davos it was announced that a “framework deal” had been reached that would make all parties involved happy.

But first, why really did Trump want Greenland besides what has always been its strategic military location regarding the controlling of the Arctic and North Atlantic against any threats by either Russia and/or China? Simply, because Greenland has a huge amount of untapped “rare-earth mineral resources” which if we owned Greenland would be a huge economic win not unlike the Venezuelan oil industry now basically being under U.S. control.

But Trump never really wanted Greenland to become another Venezuela for Denmark is a NATO nation, and resorting to military action against a fellow NATO member would not have served Trump well. But history shows that threats only work when backed up by military action...one just has to look at both last summer's military action against Iran's nuclear plants, and Trump's recent ouster of Venezuela's dictator Nicholas Maduro, and try to imagine said action being used in regards to Greenland. Common sense alone shows it would not sit well in the political court of public opinion, plus the fact that a “January 16 - 19, 2026 Economist / YouGov Poll” showed that a only 9% of Americans across all party lines approved of Trump using military force to take control of Greenland.

And why is this important...because when even Republicans are vehemently opposed to such action, and if said action were to be taken it could see Republicans losing the House. And Trump obviously knowing this thankfully saw him changing his what were bully tactics, and with said change came a “framework for a future deal,” a deal reached after his having met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

So what exactly does this “framework for a future deal,” or as Trump now calls it “the ultimate long-term deal,” include? These are the top three framework issues that would give the U.S. “everything we want,” as per President Trump.

First: In return for Trump's canceling his threatened tariffs on Europe and ruling out taking Greenland by force or by “excessive strength,” and with Denmark insisting that its “red line” sovereignty over the island was not up for discussion, there will be ongoing discussions regarding the “Golden Dome” (the $175 billion multilayered missile defense system that would include space-based components and utilize Greenland's strategic location).

Second: We would see an increase in U.S. Arctic presence to ensure that both Russia and China do not gain economic or military footholds in the region (something both Denmark and Greenland agree with); along with joint defense renegotiations between us and Denmark relating to the 1951 defense pact and our expanding U.S. presence at the strategic Pituffik Space Base.

Third: The U.S. would be given unfettered mineral resource mining rights as well as access into perpetuity to Greenland's rare-earth minerals...minerals which are much needed in the manufacturing of today's modern technology. An announcement not totally unexpected, but one that is surely welcomed, and should be beneficial to all the parties involved.

And so with this latest announcement at Davos, and with neither of the other two issues presented having been fully resolved yet either, all are at least on their way to resolution. But as with most issues of importance only time will tell how each will play out. The clock is ticking...cases closed.
